Hii guys!!

I probably should've said this a long time ago, but I've been thinking about actually going on break. I don't know how long but most likely until I can find motivation to edit. I absolutely will not be quitting and don't plan on to, I've just been facing burnout with a lot of things and since I'm on spring break I've just been rotting in bed since last Friday 😭

For MEPs and collabs I'm currently working on them as I can. Also I haven't touched my phone since genuinely last week so that's kinda why I haven't edited anything so uh 💔

Thank you guys so much for all of this (im almost at 2.1k omgg). I love you all a lot and I'm sorry for not feeding you all. I'll try to in the future trust 🥹🙏

This most definitely has nothing to do with me, but do I have something to say? Yes. Do I want to share my opinion and input? Yes. Do I expect this post to be noticed? No.

The editing community has gotten much more toxic since the year started, and I'm sure I've seen a good amount of people say it.
I've said something similar to the following on @/EtoileDeBrume's post (youtube.com/post/UgkxdiPv8BruRTiuTHDwE81ldrwnDFejT…, call-out/exposing posts are UNNEEDED and DO NOTHING for ANYONE. Unless it's a genuine, FULLY problematic issue, a post shouldn't be made just to bring "awareness." But even then, the issue would have to speak for itself, and if it needs to be brought up or discussed. If none of the above, talk about it PRIVATELY, no one needs to be brought in, or do more people need to be dragged into a matter that shouldn't be public in the first place?

To the current topic that I've seen plaguing the community recently. I've never been copied in my entire editing career, but I can understand why people are upset. A style is an aspect that people make unique to themselves, something that others will be able to recognize just from a glance or a few seconds of watching.
Now, I believe that someone's style can reflect on themselves as a person if studied enough, which is why I have a hard time finding my own, as I am a changing person who likes one thing after another with no stop between my interests.
Copying a style is a way to grow and learn; the general majority of editors I've seen EVERYWHERE have started from copying from another. And not many start from scratch.

Tell me, how did you learn math, and how are you still able to solve it now? Because you've been copying other people's way of solving, because there aren't many ways for you to go about solving 2+2 or 2x=4+2. (This is a terrible analogy, but my point still stands.)
Returning to editing, how many editors have you seen who haven't done word-by-word text in the past? Not many, I'd assume, as that's where most editors start off with typography. Heck, even I did it too.
Back to copying, understandably, people are upset if they're being copied, but no one necessarily owns anything in this community besides their channel and items they have hand-created. If you really have a problem with being copied, be the mature one and ask to talk to the other party in private.


This took me over 40 minutes to write. Ignore anything that may come off as rude or harsh. I mean this with my best intentions, and I have thought about whether I should say this or not. Good night guys💜
