I was on Reddit, and it's rare to find people talking about BTOB there, so whenever they do, it's definitely something to celebrate.
Someone commented that they don't follow BTOB because there's no subtitled content. That's not entirely true. Their official channel actually has subtitles on many videos. While some older ones might still be in Korean, a lot of their newer content is subtitled. I used to understand that excuse, but not anymore. Now, I just assume they're not really interested in stanning them, even though I always tell them to check out the channel and see the subtitles for themselves.
The only comment I consistently hear about BTOB is, "They're funny." People don't seem to look beyond that. But if they actually bothered to research BTOB, they'd realize they're truly excellent artists. I've recommended BTOB songs on Reddit, and the responses are often, "I love it!" or "Wow, this is amazing!" They never mention Eunkwang as one of the best vocalists or leaders, which I always make sure to do! 😂
I do a bit of promotion for BTOB there, and sometimes for A.C.E too, because they deserve it. Mostly, though, I think people are hesitant to stan BTOB because they're an old group and tend to release more ballads than upbeat songs. I'm still hoping for more lively BTOB tracks like "Outsider," "Pray," or "Movie," to name a few.
I believe if BTOB released more energetic songs and moved a bit away from predominantly quieter tracks or ballads, they might gain more recognition outside of Korea. They're already incredibly well-known and respected domestically, but that's just my opinion.
