What an honor it was to be invited to the private brunch for the new release of Maison Crivelli Tubéreuse Astrale.

Okay so many of you know, I’m NOT the biggest fan of florals. This isn’t breaking news.

When I heard “Tubéreuse”, I concocted a vision in my head -and it wasn’t a good one. I admit, I was ready for a hot mess.

Fast forward to the event when I got to smell the actual fragrance… dear Lord in Heaven I was absolutely WRONG!

Quentin Bisch is an absolute GENIUS! I’m not sure what kind of wizardry is happening in his lab, but there’s something special occurring - because FLORAL LEATHER was NOT on my bingo card!

More to come on this - because yeah… just yeah! Here’s a reel for your entertainment. I need to go sniff my bottle again.

🎥 📺 As content creators, some may look to us for information, humor, or connection. People may want to get away from a stressful day at the office, while others may want to hide from a world that’s far more daunting than any of us behind the camera could fathom. Without knowing it, we may have a very REAL effect on the behavior of others in this virtual space we all share.

🧬 Those of us with YouTube channels and appearing at events and creating stuff on this platform are human. We don’t walk on water and angels 👼 don’t suddenly appear and blow trumpets 🎺when we walk into rooms (although @stayfreshproductions might if you ask nicely). We do what we love, and in the case of this particular space, we often smell good doing it.

🎬🎞️ The job of a content creator is to bring entertainment to the viewer. While it’s true, we are NOT responsible for the actions of others, we must be mindful of the influence (perceived or real ) that we (may) hold over those that consume our content.

🌏 Each one of us shares a responsibility to give the viewer the best content we can, being honest in that content, and understanding that what the viewer does with it after they click the ❌ in the top right corner is solely their decision and their decision alone. There’s been some debate on this point (I’m happy to entertain comments on this part).

With that, whomever comes across this post - go out and make an impact. INFLUENCE those around you in the BEST ways possible!

🍂 What’s your FAVORITE season??? I know we’re into Autumn 🍂 (but it feels like summer 🌞 is trying to make a last stand).

🍁 There’s ONE fragrance (just ONE ☝️) that I lean on more than any other during the warmer days / months.

Nishane Wulong Cha has been my go to bottle on hot and humid days. It’s calming, therapeutic, inviting and nourishes my senses and soul when I wear it.

🍂 Enter Wulong Cha X - and I’m totally in love 🥰. For the 10th Anniversary, the brand has re-imagined some of their most popular offerings.

🍂 Compared to the original, X is way more floral - but still very fresh. While I agree with others in saying it comes off as more feminine, I cannot imagine my collection being without it.

🏩 Reminiscent of a high-end hotel lobby in France 🇫🇷 the tea ☕️ note here is less prevalent to my nose than in the original. I’d more-so call X “clean”. I wouldn’t say “soapy” (some might), but my brain 🧠 doesn’t automatically think soap. The transformations here remind me of cleanliness - pretty, soft, luxurious, natural cleanliness.

👃🏻: Julien Rasquinet has done a masterful job of reinterpreting a fragrance that I fell lin love with in 2015. Now, in 2023, my heart 💓 continues to beat for Wulong Cha X.

What fragrance purchase hurt you the most?

We all have regrettable buys.

I have to say one regret I have was purchasing Maison Margiela Jazz Club. There was so much hype around it that I just had to get it (thankfully I didn’t buy it retail). But alas, it hurt me to know that it was just a mediocre scent.

Which ones were you hyped about - but were ultimately a let down that hurt you to your core?

So great seeing (and meeting for the first time) Maya Njie during her meet and greet at Arielle Shoshanna.

I had a wonderful time getting reacquainted with Tobak and Tropica and experiencing Nordic Cedar for the first time!

It was also a pleasure seeing so many of you! Here’s to smelling great and our paths crossing in the near future.

FYI: if you haven’t smelled Nordic Cedar - do yourself a favor and get on it!
