21 months. Countless late nights. More sweat and tears shed than I’d like to admit (zero blood, thankfully 😅).
And now…I’m officially a DOUBLE GATOR!
Earning my MBA from the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business is an achievement I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Corporate Finance and Operations Management tried to take me out, but still I rise!
This experience stretched me, sharpened me, and introduced me to people who made every challenge worth it.
This chapter is closed… but I’m just getting started. 🚀
For years, my friend Timbria was on track to become a physician. We were roommates freshman year, and for as long as I knew her, that was the plan.
Until one day…it wasn’t.
Instead of continuing down the pre-med path, she pivoted and found a career most people have never even heard of: Genetic counseling. 🧬 🥼
Today, she’s a clinical genetic counselor, and she’s already making an impact in the field. I'm not just saying that because she's my bestie!
This woman has from published research and co-founded an organization that supports Black students pursuing genetic counseling.
I sat down with her to talk about how it all happened. In this conversation, she shares: 🧬 How she discovered genetic counseling (after walking away from med school) 🎓 What it actually takes to become a genetic counselor 💼 What she does day-to-day in a clinical role 🤝 How she’s helping create more access and representation in the field 📈 The accomplishments she’s most proud of so far
This is part of a short series I’m doing for Women’s History Month, highlighting women (my friends!) with unique and impactful careers.
In undergrad, my friend Christina thought she’d become a lawyer. Today, she works in research and policy in DC, and on the side, she’s a Haitian Creole translator and interpreter.
It began with a program during the Biden administration. Then one LinkedIn post. And a dream she once had about translating before Congress.
Christina was gracious enough to let me record a conversation where she explained: ⚖️ How she pivoted from law to policy 💡 The moment that sparked her translation work 🤑 How much you can actually make doing it 😲 Advice for anyone who speaks more than one language
Check out my latest video, the first in a short series highlighting women (read: my friends!!!) with unique careers, in celebration of Women's History Month.
If you’ve ever wondered what the MBA experience is really like beyond the classroom, come along with me to Charlotte, NC! 🇺🇸
In my latest vlog, I’m sharing what it was like visiting Truist HQ, hearing from leaders on ESG and CSR, and connecting with my classmates during our summit.
Whether you’re thinking about applying to an MBA program or just curious how business students learn from real companies, this one’s for you.
