No one really plans to be a caregiver. You don’t get time to process the transitions and changes. Give yourself grace when you feel resentful, grief, anger or any emotion. You are valid. 🫂💔🩷
I am extremely happy to share that I am officially Board Certified with the National Institute for Dementia Education - NIDE! 🧠👏
I knew this was the certification for me the moment I started the curriculum. It is some of my favorite foundational dementia education I have ever received. (You know it’s good when you’re giddy and want to share with everyone after every training!) 🤯🙌
A huge thank you to Dr. Joshua Freitas, Ph.D. , whose work I have been a big fan of for years! Learning from you is such a gift. Thank you for your dedication to your work and for creating such an empowering learning experience. 🫶🏻
I am so ready to share this knowledge with all of you! 📝
I’ll be sharing details on this certification in the coming weeks. Follow along or reach out if you want to be the first to know! 😎
Mealtimes may become overwhelming in dementia care settings – but you don’t have to figure it out alone!

DEMENTIA & ALZHEIMER’S ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE
🤯🙌
This is the sentence that made everything click for me.
“They have dementia (a set of symptoms/syndrome) BECAUSE of their Alzheimer’s disease”.
The dementia is caused by the #alzheimersdisease 🧠
Meaning: Dementia doesn’t always = Alzheimer’s disease (it can be caused by over 120 reasons) but Alzheimer’s disease will ALWAYS lead to dementia (a set of symptoms).
Does this help?!! Let me know if you have an easier way to break it down! 🙌📢📢🩷🧠
