Get Poetry

We promised you a PEFAZIL series in time for the end-of-year exams. Well...

New Series Launch | Sunday 7:30pm

What if the problem with your poetry answers… isn’t what you know - but how you’re writing about it?

Most students don’t lose marks because they misunderstand poems.

They lose marks because their analysis:

stops too early
stays too general
or never quite connects properly

That changes this Sunday.

At 7:30pm, we're launching a brand new Get Poetry series:

PEFAZIL - What it is, how it works and why it actually gets marks

This isn’t another checklist.
It’s not a formula to memorise.
It’s a way of thinking that helps you:

✅ build clear, controlled analytical paragraphs
✅ zoom in on the right words
✅ explain meaning with precision
✅ and keep comparison flowing naturally

Across 9 short episodes, we take one real exam question:

Compare how power is presented in "If—" and "My Last Duchess"

… and build a high‑level paragraph step by step, showing you exactly how strong analysis is constructed.

If you’ve ever thought:

“I know the poems, I just don’t know how to write about them properly…”

This series is for you.

🗓 Sunday 31st May
⏰ 7:30pm
▶️ Full PEFAZIL series drops

Set the reminder. Share it with someone who needs it.

This is about turning understanding into marks.

Get ready for the 18 minutes that will transform how you write about literature.

Get Poetry

The IGCSE exam Paper 1 is now over, and if you’ve been revising alongside Get Poetry this year, you should be proud of the work you’ve put in. Exams are intense, demanding, and at times overwhelming — but that chapter is now closed.

At the same time, this feels like the right moment to look forward.

Over the coming months, the channel will be shifting focus to three major projects, all designed to bring the same calm, structured clarity to the next stage of learning:

📘 Completing the AQA Power and Conflict cluster
We’ll be finishing the remaining poems with clear analysis, connections, and comparison support — focusing on understanding before memorisation.

📗 Completing the prose content for Edexcel IGCSE Literature Paper 2
This will include big‑picture thinking, close analysis, and exam‑ready ways of approaching longer prose responses without feeling lost or overloaded.

And finally, and most excitingly of all...

🎥 Launching our PEFAZIL series

A sequence of short, focused explainers showing how strong analytical paragraphs are built, not through checklists, but through careful thinking about language, structure, form and effect.

Whether you’re GCSE or IGCSE, this is about turning insight into marks.

If you’ve found the channel helpful this year, thank you for being part of it - and please SPREAD THE WORD!

And if you’re new here, this is a great time to join - less panic, more precision and a stronger foundation for what comes next.

More clarity soon.

Thanks again!

A few days ago, we were asked by viewer @DictatorMbappéOffical about how we would go about answering the comparative question for EDEXCEL IGCSE. Well, we've now produced a pdf based on the last few years of examiners reports, as well as our years of teaching this specification.

It's available to download, free of charge, HERE: drive.google.com/file/d/1xQUkByAD4H8-qOUtrIM1hgoiz…
