City’s Vijay Kumar Ratti has achieved an academic milestone in the United States at the age of 50. Working as a Quality Engineer in an aerospace company, he successfully completed his graduation degree with top honours.

Ratti earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, a distinction that granted him the status of an “Honour Student.” In the American education system, where students often achieve closely matched grades, securing a perfect GPA is considered a remarkable accomplishment. During the graduation ceremony, he was recognised with special purple honour cords attached to his graduation cap.

15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now holds the new record of hitting maximum sixes-- 60 to be precise and still counting—in a single season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) history.



During the Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Sooryavanshi surpassed the record of 59 sixes hit by West Indian legendary power hitter, Chris Gayle during the 2012 IPL season. He also became the youngest to score 600 runs in an IPL season.



A staggering 54 per cent of Sooryavanshi’s runs have come from sixes. He boasts of an amazing record—having hit a six every 4.7 balls this season.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the constitutional validity of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls undertaken by the Election Commission, saying it advanced the constitutional imperative of free and fair elections.



A Bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi ruled that the object sought to be achieved by the SIR had a direct nexus with the constitutional goal of ensuring free and fair elections which did not rest merely on the mechanics of polling but fundamentally depended on the “integrity, accuracy, and credibility of the electoral rolls, which formed the foundation of the democratic process.”

Former self-styled godman Asaram received partial relief from the Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday after it acquitted him of charges related to gang rape and gang penetrative sexual assault on a child under the IPC and POCSO Act, while upholding his conviction for rape of a minor, which continues to carry life imprisonment.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Arun Monga and Justice Yogendra Kumar Purohit acquitted Asaram of charges under IPC Section 376(D) and Sections 5(G)/6 of the POCSO Act. The court also discharged him under Section 120(B) of the IPC related to criminal conspiracy.
