Salvador splits his time between Water and Wastewater. He has worked 2 years with Foster City Public Works, plus 8 months previously with City of Cupertino Streets. He holds a D1 in Water Distribution and a CWEA Grade 1 in Collection System Maintenance.

During the Chief Operator livestream I will share what we got up to at the plant this past month including discovering some blown out diffusers in aeration (and our plan to fix them), a really annoying PLC issue we got resolved on our MBR, and I’ll share some pictures of us finally getting our primary clarifier drive fixed (and the drawn out process in getting a replacement!)

Today I started filming my next video which will be on the Ammonium/Ammonia Equilibrium in Wastewater Treatment! It’s gonna be probably my most technical video to date. I plan to release it Tuesday May 26th (the day after Memorial Day). I’ll post about it again a few days before I publish it. Excited for this one!!

Exciting update everyone! I will be doing a LIVE operator interview on Monday the 11th at noon PST. This was not planned until yesterday afternoon. The guest is a California Grade 5 Wastewater Treatment, T4 Drinking Water, and D4 Water Distribution operator! Super cool of him to agree to jump in a LIVE chat with me. Y’all will be able to ask him questions on the chat as well. This is the first time doing something like this so I’m super stoked for it! The replay will be available for any who miss the livestream.

Hey everyone! Monday morning, May 4th my newest video on ammonia breakthrough in my MBR (and how I fixed it) will post. We will discuss how to get nitrification back on track! Due to its relevance, I will immediately start working on a follow up video about the ammonium/ammonia equilibrium. Other cool stuff in the hopper:

I'm almost finished editing another operator interview. I've got a new series coming where I will be filming short study sessions with my new OIT, Wes! This is a fun one because he's asking really great beginner questions, and I can teach through the eyes of a trainee. Also, I'm heading to a neighboring plant in May to film with the one of the instrumentation and controls experts there so we can get you a SCADA video! Much more coming as well so stay tuned!

Also huge shout out to our latest members Yvette (shift operator) and Sim (chief operator). Thank you so much for your support. All of my members will get a shout out during my upcoming video on May 4!

I have added a new member perk to the Shift Operator membership level! Shift Operators ($0.99 per month) and Chief Operators ($3.99 per month) will now get a guaranteed response in the comments section. I'm rolling this out because, as the channel grows, the amount of emails and comments I receive is getting harder and harder to keep up with. That's a good problem to have! I will still try my best to respond to as many comments and emails as I can, but will prioritize member comments and emails first. As always, thank you all for your support.
