I’ve been contemplating a lot as I often do. Lately I’ve felt it has been important to try to connect with people more and make that effort to reach out and even be a bit vulnerable with sharing more of myself. At the same time, coming home and getting straight to my priorities in regards to my creative work and personal growth. I think this balance is important as being alone can become isolating, while on the other hand if you lose sight of yourself and what you are creating you cease to be connected to that deeper inner value.
There is something about creating something or bringing something out of yourself into the world that has a powerful effect on who you are becoming. It’s also important to approach the world through a disposition of strength so that you have the resilience to overcome difficult times and allow your actions to be full of meaning. This requires wisdom and the development of a hard to attain attitude towards life.
I can promise you this, if you stick with me and continue to expose yourself to the ideas I share, make them your own, and apply them diligently - there is no doubt that you will be completely transformed. The reason I am so confident in saying this is because I’ve been transformed myself - and the ideas are larger than me as an individual - they are for everyone who takes up the call.
It’s not me that is special, but what I’m plugged into is certainly powerful. I want to share that with others because that’s a part of who I am. And the interesting thing is that only those who are actually worthy will truly understand it and make it their own - that’s why it’s okay to share openly as it will bounce off some people, while others will receive it into their heart.
Of course we are all on this journey together - my hope is that you receive the same goosebumps that I do. ☯️
At every turn there are challenges, pushing you, pulling you, maybe even crushing you.
But the question remains, how will you stand in the face of life?
Often, we don’t even ask this question, we instead find ourselves perplexed to even conceptualise the problems we are in – as the problems are just as much within us as outside of us.
At every step of the way we find ourselves uncertain.
For we cannot know the future with certainty. We may even be unsure of our past and what it really means to us or of what really happened. We may feel upset or not quite right about the present. On all sides, the only answer we can sometimes come up with, if we are honest with ourselves, is ‘I don’t know’.
It is at this point of not knowing, and knowing you don’t know, which produces a special kind of knowledge. The knowledge of your uncertainty. Instead of shrinking back from it, fearing it, obsessing over your confusion, you can begin to embrace it. For years you try to ‘figure out’ your ‘calling’ or the ‘one path’ that is meant to be right for you, and yet you remain in a state of uncertainty. Sometimes we may cling to a certain path or person to gain more certainty – only to have it all go horribly wrong when the uncertainty comes back up from within.
What if destiny whispered to you – ‘it doesn’t matter’. Depending on who you are, you might reply, ‘Of course it matters! This is my life, everything matters! I need this and that…’, or you may instead reply, with a cheerful ‘Thank goodness!’ and begin to trust in the uncertainty you were running away from all along. If you then face that uncertainty with that particular disposition, it transforms your relationship to it.
You may be at a point where you can’t see a way, in fact, all indicators tell you to give up. Yet you still act, you still take those steps forward, no matter how small – you act with courage in the face of hopelessness. Then all of sudden, a beam of light hits your face, you’ve found the exit to the cave you’ve been lost in. You don’t know how, you don’t know why, but you know you faced your uncertainty with faith despite being completely lost – now a new kind of certainty is beginning to develop within.

When I was a young boy my uncle took me for a bike ride and as we cycled down the pathway near the Australian bush I looked down and saw a snake that we both rode straight over. I thought it was so smooth because the snake didn't seem to be bothered by us riding over it and it just slithered past almost effortlessly. When we got back home I was still excited about what I saw and mentioned to my uncle how amazing that was that we rode over the snake. He looked me in the eyes with seriousness and said that he didn't see any snake. From my point of view we clearly both rode straight over it and there would be no mistaking that we did so because it was still moving. When I look back I understand now that as a child I hallucinated seeing that snake. And as an adult, I understand more of its meaning.
