It's a Thanksgiving Miracle!

I am so excited to report that videos are back on track, and after way too long of not having a normal Saturday video, I couldn't wait until Saturday to start posting again.

My apologies for anybody who has been terribly disappointed that I haven't had a regular Saturday video in the past few weeks!

Life has been very busy with teaching, and things like performing Rhapsody in Blue, which was a ton of fun! I have also recently hired a video editor, but we haven't quite smoothed out the process yet.

In the meantime, Jay over at ‪@clarinetninja‬ and ‪@ClarinetNinjaPodcast‬ has recently released part 2 of our conversation on equipment, which should keep you covered if you have missed my clarinet ramblings:

Welcome to this week's Live(ish) Monday Music Motivation!

So, today I have some text-based motivation for you!

Take a moment to reflect on your goals and dreams, and then answer this question (in your head, in a journal, or even better comment it on this post!):
What is the one thing that would make the biggest difference for you to focus on?

Try and go deep with this. The most beneficial thing may or may not be the first thing that comes to mind. Often times it is the thing that is nagging at the back of our mind, but we are trying to avoid or put off...

Get the courage to tackle that thing, and your playing will make massive strides forward!

No Live Monday Music Motivation video this week, but I still have some inspiration and motivation for you!

As you are experimenting to improve your playing, which you should do a lot, use not just the sound quality, but also the easy of playing as your North Star.

Obviously do the things that sound better, but when you find the things that sound better and feel easier, steadier, and more consistent, that’s when you really know you’re on the right track!

I hope that gives you some food for thought this week, and don’t forget to fill out your practice template: this week’s date, a reflection on where you’re at, a clear achievable goal/intention for this week, and your plan for when you will make it happen.
