From personal experience, I noticed dance music started to decline around 1997 when radio stations shifted focus to R&B, mainstream pop, and boybands. Essentially, record labels prioritized profits and abandoned the electronic counterculture that was prominent in the early to mid-1990s.

I hope that with artificial intelligence, producers will get the assistance they need to create more advanced harmonies.
