December 2023: I love to share my journey of writing with fountain pens and inks here on this You Tube channel. I make regular videos each month about what I'm writing with and I update mid month with a progress report on how each pen/nib and ink is doing. Also, I'm likely to review anything I get really excited about that relates to the fountain pen hobby. I'm in my 7th year of making You Tube videos and I enjoy connecting with other fountain pen people + talking about books, cats and fixing an old house. My husband and I are retired and this venture here on You Tube is one of my hobbies - it brings me a lot of joy. In the beginning, I reviewed a lot of inks but that became something I didn't enjoy the repetition of after a few years. However, I still really enjoy talking about how a specific ink does for me in a specific pen/nib. Thank you for joining me. I keep ads on the channel to help me fund my postage for pen pal writing, and to pay for other hobby supplies!

Hi pen friends! Technical difficulties caused the "face to face" part of my video (yesterday's CVS Caliber first impressions) to be upside down ... so unless I can convert that to a podcast format ... I'll need to redo it. I do apologize for the zany video. I'll be back as soon as I can with a "not upside down" video. The story of how it happened is just too long explain right now. I'm so excited ... I found my tiny purple pen rest yesterday! Also, I forgot to include some washing tape in my mini journal kit so I've added that! In case you missed it ... I made a video last week about making tiny journal kits in plastic card deck holders! ✒️📽📺

Hi pen friends! I'm back at my pen desk at least partially today ... yesterday's hearing (re: Mom's care) is complete and we will have their recommendation at some point .... there's much more for me/us to do but I am very relieved that it went well and thank you so much for your prayers and positive thoughts. I held up for it and did my part to the best of my ability. This little kitty bank is something that I think will have a permanent home with my inks ... it seems to go there so nicely and makes me happy every time I look at it. I was admiring it at the local Asian Market and Manuel bought it for me on the spot. It's so cute and I'll be putting my change in it and enjoying the cuteness. Today I am re-organizing my pen pal letters and choosing some pens to ink for May. On this last day of April 2026.

Yikes! Home repair sticker shock today: gas hot water heater installed .... 600% more than 22 years ago for the equivalent heater and professional installation. Goodness. Also, our city has an ordinance that homeowners can't install these. Not that it would be within my personal ability to do so but..... still ......RIP most amazingly reliable hot water heater!!!!!!

I'd like to get some input on when you would be likely to watch a livestream ... also, I know I have more time Tues/Thurs/Sat's just generally. And also I'm not really very swift at night lol ... I tend to be in pjs reading by 8 pm. LOL Any input you can give me in the comments though will help me begin to see when MIGHT be a good time for a weekly live show. I would enjoy talking about pens, journaling, writing letters, books, cats, life etc.

Hi pen friends! Today, I tried out my laptop for a livestream and talked about my new Asvine V-800 fountain pen plus a recent pen project with my pen boxes, and showed what I am reading. It was great ... some pen friends hopped on even though there was no notice because it was just an impulsive experiment! I am grateful to know the mic worked and the picture could be seen ... ! Next time, I'll schedule it so that there will be more of notice. I'll put up a poll and separate thread to begin figuring out what time/day of the week might work. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it ... I always enjoy watching and chatting during other pen friends' livestreams but only one other time (5 years ago) did I try it myself on my cell phone and it was harder with just a phone ... not being able to easily read comments. Thank you to all who jumped on and helped me test this out!!!!!!

Today, I downsized my pen boxes and these are all recycled now! That allowed me to free up a jumbo storage tub for another purpose and I can easily find my keeper boxes + those that go to pens I am likely to re-home. It has been a week! I intended to have a video but instead I've just barely managed to keep up with the "must do" stuff. Things are likely to balance out during the upcoming week though and I have quite a few things to share with you! I'm almost caught up with pen pal letters ... only 2 in the reply pile, and I continue to sift thru emails I missed or put off answering! Today, I got a fountain pen which I ordered with an Amazon gift card sent by viewer and pen friend MS. So, I now own my 1st Asvine fountain pen and can't wait to write with it. I'll see you soon!!!!
