I went to my local train show (the bi-annual Boeing show in St. Louis) and ended up buying some turnouts. I bought some new Walthers #8's. I'm rethinking parts of my track plan and want to add a staging yard. I'll talk about this in a future video!
The sun through the window in the train room can offer some pretty nice and dramatic lighting. This was a spur of the moment idea to capitalize on the light.
For my first community post I wanted to share a small "haul" from a local train show.
I picked up 3 Scale Trains Rivet Counter Gunderson 5188 covered hoppers. This has brought my total up to 9 as I am building up my Union Pacific grain train. I could have picked up more but I want some variety from other manufactures.
My other covered hoppers to make my grain train will be swapped with plain gray Athearn Genesis Trinity 3-Bay hoppers and eagerly awaited Class One Model Works ARI 5200 covered hoppers.
My goal is to have this train between 15-17 cars long. Mostly "boring" plain gray and UP blue-gray hoppers. The yellow-ish CMO and red AOK and MBKX hoppers will add a nice splash of color.
