One of the greatest privileges that Dive Talk, our YouTube channel, has given Gus and me… is the ability to connect with and support organizations like this, right in the communities where we host our annual Dive Talk scuba meetup trips. Each year we choose a local charity to help wherever our meet ups are and this one in particular really touches our hearts.

It means that wherever we go, we’re not just diving…
we’re able to give back. What an honor this is, thanks to you all.

To meet the people doing this life-changing work firsthand…
and to help shine a light on places like Hope Haven, where that support can truly change lives.

So, I want to tell you about a place called Hope Haven.

Hope Haven is a children’s home in San Pedro, Belize (where our Dive Talk meet up is in July 2026). But it’s not just a home—it’s a place of healing for children who have experienced things no child should ever have to endure… severe physical abuse, (sadly, including in many of the cases severe sexual abuse), neglect, and trauma.

Every child who arrives at Hope Haven carries a story.
And most of those stories are filled with pain, loss, and instability.

But here’s what makes Hope Haven different…

At Hope Haven, every child is given something they may have never had before:
safety, consistency, and unconditional care.

This home is built around a simple but powerful belief:
that behavior is communication… and that healing takes time.

So instead of punishment, these children are met with patience.
Instead of chaos, they are given stability.
Instead of fear, they are shown love, every single day.

Hope Haven provides full-time care for children who have nowhere else to go… and even keeps emergency spaces open for children who need immediate rescue.

They also run a learning center for kids who have fallen outside the school system, giving them education, support, and hope for a better future.

This work is not easy.
It requires round-the-clock care from dedicated house moms, staff, and a community that believes these children deserve more.

And that’s where you come in.

Right now, we have an opportunity to be part of something life-changing, to give these children not just survival… but a real chance to heal and thrive.

Every dollar helps provide food, education, therapy, and a safe home for children who have already endured so much.
They have a longer term goal of needing $200,000 to complete their second housing facility as their current home can only house 15 children and so many more are in need. But their immediate need is $5,500 as they need:
1. Replacement of oven ($2,000);
2. Rain guards (it's raining in rhe kitchen) ($2,000); and
3. Wall mount fans in all the bedrooms ($1500).
