Official channel for British pop rock duo, Chas & Dave.
Formed in London by Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock, Chas & Dave were most notable as creators and performers of a musical style labelled rockney (a portmanteau of rock and cockney), which mixes "pub singalong, music-hall humour, boogie-woogie piano and pre-Beatles rock 'n' roll".
Hits include "Gertcha", "Rabbit" and "Ain't No Pleasing You".

The latest upload from the recently-re-mastered "Great Night In..." live set from 1982 is none other than "Ain't No Pleasing You". The song was released a few months before this performance (with Dave using the same Yamaha bass he used on the record) and of course ended up being C&D's biggest hit.

If you're wondering why Chas and Dave are looking relatively beard-less here, it's because this was filmed a few weeks after they'd shaved the beards off for charity. Keep an eye out for more clips from Dave later this year!

This was an album track from the recently released "Joblot" album and wasn't released as a single. Ironically, and somewhat poignantly the song was recorded and released as a single by our recently departed friend Mike Berry in 1983. So we'd like to dedicate this clip to Mike.

Here's another chance to see Dave's intro from the promo video of the song where he talks about their gear being stolen - including the bass guitar Dave's playing in this clip. Among the stolen gear was a banjo given to him by Eric Clapton (who recently celebrated his 80th). He never got the bass back but he did get the banjo back:).

We have a couple of songs from this set, and today's one is "Mustn't Grumble" from the "Joblot" album - which had recently been released. We can only assume this gig took place in the middle of a promotional push as Chas looks totally knackered! The full clip is up on the Youtube channel now!

The single itself was the first C&D track to feature a synthesizer (although not present here) as well as Dave playing slap bass.
