Welcome to Making It in El Salvador โ the creative workshop of the Hagenaars family. On our main channel, you see the daily challenges of moving our family from Canada to Central America. Here, you see the solutions.
We are dedicated to the practical side of expat life: resourcefulness and self-sufficiency. When you can't buy it, you have to build it. From woodworking custom furniture with local timber and 3D printing hard-to-find replacement parts, to sourcing ingredients for baking and growing our own food โ we are literally building our new life from scratch.
What you'll find here:
๐ ๏ธ Builds: Woodworking & DIY projects for the homestead.
๐จ๏ธ Tech: Using 3D printing to solve "third world" problems.
๐ Kitchen: Adapting baking & cooking to tropical ingredients.
๐งต Make: Sewing, gardening, and creative fixes for everyday hurdles.

Making It In El Salvador
Thank you all so much for subscribing to my new channel. If you are new to me then maybe you do not know that I have another channel at youtube.com/@HagenaarsFamily that is our family vlog mostly of our lives in El Salvador.
I hope to use this channel for our daily life struggles of where to find things, who to call and in general help people navigate living in a new country. My main channel focuses on a very niche area of "how" to move to El Salvador and then once people moved here then they were met with the struggles of building a new home and a new life here. So this channel should help bridge that gap. We also have a Whatsapp community, now of 135 people, where people who live here can also offer advice to all. If you woudl liek to join that please email me at youtube@hagenaars.com.
