YOU Export’s Export Summit 2025 – A Grand Success!

We successfully conducted the YOU Export’s Export Summit 2025 last Saturday at the AFTC Grains Main Auditorium, Madurai, with agricultural and all trade chambers.

The event brought together experienced exporters, industry leaders, and aspiring entrepreneurs, creating a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and exploring new international trade opportunities.

The summit saw an enthusiastic gathering of agri and non-agri exporters who shared their experiences and insights into the evolving international market.

The event focused on:

- Emerging export trends for 2025
- Challenges faced by exporters and solutions
- Government support & financial assistance for exporters
- Opportunities in new and growing international markets

As the Chairman of YOU Export,I had the honor of addressing the audience and sharing my thoughts on export opportunities in 2025.

I emphasized the importance of:
-Exploring new export markets
-Leveraging government schemes and financial support
-Strengthening global trade connections
-The role of technology and digital platforms in exports

The summit was a valuable experience, especially for new exporters and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to step into the international market.

Supporting Farmers Against Tungsten Mining in Melur!

I had the opportunity to visit the villages of Melur alongside Mr. Rethinavelu, Chairman of the Agri and all trade Chamber. What we learned was both shocking and deeply concerning.

The Union Government has granted rights to #Vedanta group for tungsten mining over 5,000 acres of fertile agricultural land in villages like Kidaripatti, Mangulam, Vallalapatty, Pulipatty, and Arittapatty. This includes the Arittapatti biodiversity heritage site, which is at risk of being resurveyed for exclusion from protection.

We also discovered that the final plan extends this project to a staggering 38,500 acres, covering parts of Sivaganga, Dindigul, and Pudukkottai districts. Alarmingly, the project proposes to cut off the Mullaperiyar main water canal at Kidaripatti, threatening irrigation for 1.5 lakh acres of farmland downstream.

This is a critical issue for farmers, biodiversity, and the sustainability of our region's agriculture. The Agri and all trade chamber has unanimously decided to stand in solidarity with the protesting farmers and residents.

As trade and agricultural representatives, we believe it's our duty to oppose projects that jeopardize livelihoods, biodiversity, and water resources. We will continue to support the farmers and work to ensure their voices are heard.
