Gaurav Srivastava is a strategic investor in frontier markets, with a focus on energy, commodities and finance across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. In 2008 Srivastava left college to manage a family investment in South Africa. This led to his first investment in the petroleum and gas industry, launching his career as a strategic investor in the energy and commodities markets.
Born in India, Srivastava currently resides in the United States where he and his wife raise their children. Together, they run the Gaurav and Sharon Srivastava Foundation.
Since late 2023, Srivastava has been the subject of an aggressive and vindictive disinformation campaign in a failed attempt to exonerate Niels Troost from trading in illicit Russian oil. Troost and related entities were eventually sanctioned by the UK, EU, Switzerland and the US Treasury (OFAC).
