A leaked document from the Ityoshin zoning committee has also surfaced, highlighting discussions around the selection process for the next TIDA President.
According to the report of the Ityoshin Congress held on 26th April 2024 in Doma, following the directive from the Joint Stakeholders Meeting, the Ityoshin people were asked to select a candidate based on the principle of “Ya Na Wangbian” — a principle aimed at promoting equity, inclusion, and fairness.
The document stated that the Ityoshin people, made up of the Mbakpa and Raav clans, reviewed their internal arrangement to ensure fairness in the distribution of leadership opportunities within TIDA.
As the debate continues, stakeholders are urged to prioritize transparency, peace, and unity. Leadership disputes should be resolved through proper dialogue and established processes to avoid divisions that may affect the progress and development of the Tiv community in Nasarawa State.

Wake-Up Call to Tiv Nation — Comr. Tsav Nathaniel Urges Unity and Collective Action
A prominent Tiv stakeholder and National Secretary to the Government of United Tiv Nation Forum Worldwide Foundation, Comrade Tsav Nathaniel, has issued a strong call for unity among Tiv sons and daughters across Nigeria and the diaspora, urging them to rise above division and work together for the survival and progress of Tiv Nation.
In a statement made available to the public, Comr. Nathaniel lamented the prolonged hardship, insecurity, killings, and suffering faced by Tiv communities over the years, describing the situation as a painful reality that has affected countless families and communities for more than a decade.
According to him, forces working against the peace and existence of Tiv Nation are determined to weaken the people, create division, and take over their ancestral lands and positions of influence.
“The signs are already before us. The only solution is for us to come together, speak with one voice, and work collectively to rebuild and protect our nation,” he stated.
He emphasized that unity, commitment, and collective action remain the only path toward overcoming the challenges confronting Tiv people, stressing that silence and division can no longer guarantee the future of the nation.
Comr. Nathaniel disclosed that efforts have already begun to unite Tiv communities through visits to elders and traditional rulers in various states where Tiv people are indigenous. He explained that the movement is focused on restoring unity and ensuring that Tiv people speak with one voice in both words and actions.
He, however, expressed concern that many people still remain passive observers without supporting the vision, while only a few individuals continue to sacrifice their time, strength, and resources for the cause.
“No nation can move forward when its people refuse to participate in building it,” he said.
The Tiv leader further called on Tiv sons and daughters to set aside jealousy, hatred, division, and selfish interests in order to strengthen the bond of unity among the people.
“If we stand together, no challenge will be too great for us to overcome. Tiv Nation must rise. The time is now. Unity is our strength,” he concluded.
