Dear Friends: The Catholic Church is on the verge of civil war. The Vatican has greenlit the homosexual lifestyle, as I proved in last week’s Underground: https://youtu.be/wNxNVbuBfhw?si=GjyqU... and this week we have Cardinal Bob McElroy teaming up with Father Jimmy Martin for an alphabet soup conference that beautifully confirms what I was saying last week.
And who’s getting excommunicated? Certainly not Cardinal Bob or Father Jimmy! But wait, there’s more!
This morning, Pope Leo sent a letter to the leadership of the Society of St. Pius X, warning them not to tear the “seamless tunic” of Christ’s Church in half tomorrow. He says he is finally ready to dialogue.
“Trust us! We’re from the Vatican, and we’re here to help!”
I'm sorry, but maybe His Holiness should have thought of that before continuing his predecessor’s mad rampage to cancel the Latin Mass worldwide -- a big part of the reason the SSPX is seeking recourse in the emergency provisions of Canon Law to safeguard the Traditional Mass and Sacraments in the first place.
With due respect, does His Holiness think we're suffering from Stockholm Syndrome to such an extent that as the Vatican continues to ruthlessly rip the Latin Mass out of our lives, we’d somehow welcome a papal sermon on how the SSPX is tearing the seamless tunic apart? Since that Latin Mass is the only Mass our children ever knew, Traditionis Custodes is basically an encyclical letter instructing our children to go to hell.
Trust the Vatican? Why ever would the SSPX do that?
And what about the Vatican's role in tearing the “seamless tunic” to shreds by throwing traditionalists out of their churches, treating their priests like criminals, and driving their communities into gymnasiums? Just ask Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte how it works.
And this is to say nothing about the clerical sex scandals that have been rocking the Church ever since our children can remember. But the SSPX is the problem, because they want to establish oases of Catholic life for our kids in the middle of the spiritual desert the Vatican has made of the Catholic Church?
Meanwhile, we’ve got some Novus Latin Mass buffs – perched precariously on the fence, moistened fingers in the air – trying to please the guards by throwing the SSPX even further under the bus: “The SSPX are behaving like Protestants,” they solemnly inform their follower. “We are NOT like THEM!”
It’s not that I don’t admire their courage to speak in the absence of knowledge but were it not for Archbishop Lefebvre, these guys would never have had the Latin Masses Francis canceled in the first place. Why not? Because that Mass would have died the death in August of 1988.
But that doesn't stop these windbags with liturgical preferences and an assigned seat in the choir loft. Nope, they tell us that Archbishop Lefebvre and his successors are "no better than Martin Luther."
Okay, but two talking points about that:
1) From the point of view of the ecumenical all-religions-are-good Vatican, even if that were true -- and the SSPX is just a modern iteration of Martin Luther -- wouldn't that be a good thing? 2) Ever since Pope Paul VI invited six Protestant consultants to Vatican II, the Vatican has been obsessively Protestant-friendly. Why, we even got a thoroughly Protestantized Mass out of the deal.
So, if the SSPX were to act more Protestant, they obviously wouldn't be getting excommunicated in the first place. This might be quite funny, I suppose, were it not so tragically indicative of a massive state of emergency in the Catholic Church... that starts right at the top!
No matter where you come down on the SSPX, do not let Cardinal Tucho Fernandez blow us all apart. The SSPX is NOT the problem in the Church today. Pray for the Pope, pray for the SSPX, and unite the clans.
Dear Friends: Does the Vatican still accept the Catholic Church’s Bible-based teaching against homosexual acts? Yes, or no!
Does your bishop Admonish the Sinner anymore? Yes, or no!
Is your diocese celebrating Pride Month? Yes, or no!
From popes blessing homosexual couples, to Pride in Catholic elementary schools, to Catholic scouting organizations allowing homosexual scout leaders -- Why Excommunicate the SSPX while THIS Scandal Rocks the Church?
That's what I ask in this week's Underground. Predictably, our neoCatholic friends are trotting out the trope that we’re “behaving like Protestants,” merely for asking these questions.
But, here's the thing: We're not the ones who commemorated the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Revolt in Lund, Sweden. That was Pope Francis!
We didn't meet with that woman pretending to be the Archbishop of Canterbury. That was Pope Leo!
We didn’t mark the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's birth by writing a letter of praise for his “deep religious devotion and profound piety." That was Pope John Paul II!
We didn’t claim that Protestant sects are “pathways to God,” and neither did we issue a Vatican stamp celebrating the Protestant Revolt. The pope did that, just as he installed a statue of Martin Luther in the Vatican, too.
We didn’t tear the statues out of Catholic sanctuaries like a bunch of unhinged Roundheads sixty years ago, and neither did we invite Protestant observers to Vatican II to help make the Catholic Liturgy more palatable to Protestants.
Come to think of it, of all Catholics in the Church today, we’re the only ones begging the postconciliar popes to STOP behaving like Protestants.
And what’s this have to do with the Society of St. Pius X? Well, if they would just behave more like Protestants, they wouldn’t need to be excommunicated next month. As it is, they're entirely too Catholic. . . and THAT's the problem!
Dear Friends: The debate over the Society of St. Pius X has NOTHING to do with where you go to Mass. Rather, it is over whether in a few weeks' time the SSPX will disqualify themselves from the Catholic counterrevolution through the mortal sin of schism.
Otherwise, unless you attend Mass in a SSPX chapel, it’s really none of your business. The SSPX is simply taking steps to ensure successors for their bishops – consecrated by Archbishop Lefebvre forty years ago – two of whom have already passed away.
This is their business, not ours!
Besides, the July 1 consecrations of bishops in Écône may be news to you, but it's not to me. Here at The Remnant, I went through this forty years ago. There is no argument -- pro and con -- I have not heard, and from qualified canon lawyers on both sides.
The only difference this time around is that with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, we all know how it ends: The SSPX never elected their own pope (as was predicted in 1988), never started their own Church (as was predicted in 1988), and never ceased praying for the pope by name at every Mass, every day, all throughout the world.
So, if this is schism, it’s the weirdest dang schism in history, which is why, in my new Underground, Bishop Athanasius Schneider explains that it’s no schism at all.
So, let’s stop God-bothering our brothers and sisters in the SSPX, shall we? They are adults who have reconciled their decision to practice the Faith in Society chapels, despite an irregular canonical status. That decision is between them and God!
If you are new to all this -- and you're nervous about the SSPX consecrations -- so be it! There is no priest or bishop in the SSPX who would hold that against you. The ship is going down, and the passengers are scrambling for lifeboats. We should neither expect nor demand lockstep agreement on every point.
So before going off half-cocked against your brothers in the SSPX, please watch my new Underground, keeping in mind that I am not SSPX. I have attended a diocesan-approved Latin Mass for thirty years.
I have no personal stake in this, over and above doing my part to keep and maintain the largest possible coalition of opposition against the worst crisis in the Church since the Arian Heresy -- a crisis which at the moment sees entire conferences of Catholic bishops blessing sodomite unions. (Your Honor, I rest my case!)
What matters most to me is this: Do not let them divide and conquer us. That is what they want. That is what they have always wanted. We cannot let that happen, and here is what we can do to prevent it: https://youtu.be/NHQhsA4ET5k?si=urOMx...
Dear Friends: Did you know that there were powerful rabbis at Vatican II who collaborated closely with Cardinal Bea to fundamentally change the Latin Mass?
Plus, the SSPX episcopal consecrations without papal mandate – is there really a state of necessity that would warrant such an extreme measure?
In this Underground, I look back to when the late Pope Francis suggested Baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ is not necessary for salvation. Would this constitute a state of emergency serious enough to justify extraordinary measures to safeguard the Faith?
Well, 1983 Code of Canon Law is clear on this: The salvation of souls (salus animarum) is the supreme law during an emergency.
Canon 1324 outlines how canonical penalties and punishments are mitigated or avoided entirely when a violation of law is committed out of necessity.
Canon 144 dictates that the Church will supply executive power of governance (supplied jurisdiction) in cases of factual error or probable doubt, ensuring spiritual duties can still be met during a crisis.
So, are we in a global Church crisis to that degree? Well, eighty percent of Catholics today have stopped going to Mass. That's a problem! There's a massive shortage of priests, and churches are closing their doors all over the world.
So, if apostasy, systemic sexual abuse, mass defections, and ubiquitous church closings do not rise to the level an emergency, what would be the point of including provisions for a “state of necessity” in Canon Law in the first place?
This is very important point, because before we can make a sound judgment on the SSPX’s July 1, 2026, consecrations, we need to get this right. Otherwise, the clans of the world will be blown apart in less than one month, and a strategy of divide-and-conquer will be initiated.
Dear Friends: The Latin Mass will be THE topic of debate this summer. But do people really understand why that is?
The Latin Mass is the touchstone of the traditional Catholic Faith. If you don't understand it, you won't understand the essence of the upcoming debate over Catholic counterrevolution.
It all starts with the Traditional Mass, based on the Latin maxim "lex orandi, lex credendi" (Latin for "the law of prayer is the law of belief"), which means how we pray is ultimately how we believe.
In this video, I interview Father Gregory Pendergraft, FSSP, who takes us through the Latin Mass, step-by-step, and explains why it is the Mass that matters, with special emphasis on how to PRAY the Mass of saints, virgins, martyrs, popes, kings, peasants -- the Communion of Saints who have assisted at this Mass since the days when Jesus Christ walked the earth.
Why is it in Latin?
Why does the priest have his back to the people?
How ancient are the prayers?
Why Communion on the tongue?
What do the vestments signify?
So many questions about what Father Faber called "the most beautiful thing this side of heaven" -- the 2000-year-old Roman Rite of Catholic Mass, which dates back to Apostolic times.
Its prayers originated on the lips of angels and the Son of God Himself.
Right now, the Traditional Latin Mass -- sometimes called the Tridentine Mass -- is experiencing a global revival, along with considerable pushback from the Synodal Church.
If you want to prep for the Great Debate of 2026, check out this fresh, new, and off-the-cuff explanation of why the Latin Mass matters: https://youtu.be/5G3PhQtTh8Q?si=6YgMs...
On Muslim Riots and Catholic Pilgrimage: The View from France
Dear Friends: The Pentecost Pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres this year was a massive success. On Pentecost Monday, Raymond Cardinal Burke offered the Latin Mass for some 23,000 pilgrims and believe me, the Vatican took note.
After the Pilgrimage, we made a personal reflection video on this event which has become the main piece of Catholic action in the Catholic restoration movement in the world today. In this video, I answer the following three questions:
Why do so many young people walk to Chartres?
How does this Unite the Clans movement include the SSPX?
How did the Chartres pilgrimage ignite the Latin Mass movement worldwide?
Also, in France this year, we had ringside seats to the football riots in Paris, which were not what they seemed to be on TV. At one point, while in Paris, I saw a 200-vehicle police escort rush the football gods out of the city. Sirens, riots, and idiots everywhere! Even celebrating a sporting victory here in the New World Order is a dog whistle for violence and chaos.
I could see that most of them were not French, obviously, as they roared past me on their motorcycles, screaming on the motorway, terrorizing drivers, belligerent and stupid. It was like the Minneapolis BLM Road Show.
So, yes, the barbarians are sacking their own cities in Europe, just as Modernists had sacked their own cathedrals half a century ago. They took Paris without firing a shot, since the emasculated post-Christian French government threw open the gates of the city and let them all in.
I also took a group of Americans down into the Vendee last week, where we learned more about the Catholics who tried to save France from this very fate. The Revolution of 1789 beheaded Catholic France, and this is what their precious Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity got them in return — burning churches and hordes of angry young infidels evacuating the bombed-out hellholes the neocon wars made of their countries in Africa and the Middle East.
Trouble is, there is nothing here in France to stop this violent revenge. These “immigrants” have been intentionally militarized, and there are not enough police in all of Europe to protect “enlightened” France anymore. Somewhere, Mr. Soros is smiling… and no doubt drooling in his tapioca pudding.
Bottom line: Europeans have no Christian kings left to turn to. No Pope Leo the Great at the gates. No Christian crusaders to stand on the wall. Just ghosts and memories now. With Christ the King having been banished, Catholic Europe is a massive graveyard of empty monasteries, burning churches, and cathedral museums.
The crisis is spiritual, of course. The clash is between a rising crescent and a falling Cross, Muslim warriors vs. apostate Christians. Whatever happened to Catholic Europe? I explore this question in another short video called "Catholic Twilight Zone: What in hell is wrong with the Synodal Church?" https://youtu.be/LTNPrvS7YWM?si=Kac1y...
In this video, I walk the grounds of a medieval French monastery and ask three questions:
Where have all the Catholics gone?
What hath Vatican II wrought?
Could Synodality possibly be any more irrelevant?
Please watch and share these two videos, and we will see you stateside back in the Underground this coming Sunday night.
Hold My Beer, Your Eminence! Get ready, clans – they’re from the Vatican and they’re here to help. Their strategy is to divide and conquer us…again… and they plan to use the July 1st SSPX episcopal consecrations as their battering ram. Unfortunately, there are a number of useful idiots on “our side” who will use whatever minimal influence they have left to help them do it.
In my experience, the challenge we face is twofold: 1) understanding the Synodal strongarm tactics against Tradition while not being intimidated by the threat of schism, and 2) ignoring the useful idiot “neo-Catholics” who will try to use the SSPX controversy to position themselves as the “reasonable moderates” on whom Cardinal “Tucho” Fernandez can count to carry his water.
Over the past forty years, the “reasonable moderates” have proven themselves to be lightweight opportunists who resent the fact that the SSPX – starting with Archbishop Lefebvre himself – are willing to suffer ostracization and even a loss of "legitimacy" in the name of Tradition. The SSPX’s “most righteous” critics are all about likes and clicks – and this is their chance to punch up.
Meanwhile, as of April 2025, a joint conference of German “Catholic” bishops and laypeople approved guidelines for the blessing of same-sex unions. And yet no Vatican threat of excommunication is forthcoming. Any questions?
My advice – as a guy who has attended a diocesan Latin Mass every Sunday since 1988 – pay no attention to the critics of our brothers and sisters in the SSPX. The clans of Tradition – in the SSPX and out – have learned the lessons of history over the course of the past four decades. We will not be played against each other again, and neither will we let Vatican bureaucrats divide and conquer us. They tried that in 1988, but we managed to keep it together. In the end, it was the pope himself (Benedict XVI) who agreed with us, lifted the SSPX "excommunications," and restored the Latin Mass to the whole Church.
You don’t think we'll do that again this time around? Hold my beer!
Dear Friends: First they said God is dead. Then they infiltrated His Church. Next, they came after the Christian family. Finally, it was open season on the unborn. But they weren't done yet. Today, humanity itself is in their crosshairs.
In this week’s Underground: What is Posthumanism and will it be the thing that paves the way for the Antichrist?
If the enemies of God get their way, humans will be replaced in one of two competing visions of a new global order. First, the rise of an AI-driven technocracy where machines will rule the world. According to Elon Musk, most of us will soon be unemployed, as AI will take the jobs and physical currency will be no more.
We will not be able to purchase anything -- even food -- without the right biometric mark. Sound familiar? “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” - Revelation 13:16-17
The second vision of the future is envisioned by an Earth cult that holds up Pachamama and chants: “In this sign, thou shalt conquer.” Their vision of the New Order condemns the very idea that humans have dominion over the earth, something God Himself bequeathed to Adam at the beginning of time. Holy Mother Church will be replaced by Holy Mother Earth, that will reimagine the Magna Carta as a Terra Carta, ultimtely abolishing private property altogether.
What can be done about it? Well, supporting Israel’s wars is certainly not going to do it. So, how about we attend a few diocesan “listening sessions” and meditate on the latest tree-hugging exercise suggested by Sister Nathalie from the Planet Synodality?
Let's get serious. There may still be time to fight back, but we need to wake up. For the past sixty years, everything in politics, culture, and religion has gone from bad to worse . . . expect for the one thing that has been frustrating the Revolution and threatening to abort the New World Order in its globalist womb.
Dear Friends: It's official -- Christian Zionism is completely out of control. It has become Protestantism's loose cannon -- unhinged, untethered, and crashing back and forth on the deck of American Conservatism, threatening to sink the entire country beneath the angry waves of secularist Christophobia.
Has the United Stated become a Protestant confessional state?
Traditional Catholics used to see Protestantism as the heresy that tore Christendom in half. Today many are lining up behind it to go to war in the name of a New Messiah.
Dear Friends: Holy Great Reset, Batman! At this year’s World Cup, the Trump Administration is going to bar people from entering the US if they’ve been critical of Israel’s war in the Middle East. This includes heads of state. In Germany and the UK, they’re actually arresting critics of Bibi Netanyahu for hate speech. We've got the clips in the new Underground.
As the noose tightens, it’s not surprising that some of President Trump’s most powerful supporters – the people who got him elected – are walking away from MAGA.
In this week’s Underground, we get into the theology behind the bizarre Bible-based war that’s tearing MAGA apart.
For instance, what is the connection between the Council of Trent and Christian Zionism? Did you know that Saint Pius V – the pope who called the men of Christendom to war against the Moors – also made a massive effort to save the world from Chrisitan Zionism?
It’s sheer lunacy to compare Bibi’s War to the Battle of Lepanto. Christian Zionism is Protestantism’s loose cannon, and right now it is threatening to take down the United States of America all by itself.
And this has been a long time coming.
Back in late 1990s, we were already fighting back against the Neocons and their forever wars in the pages of The Remnant newspaper. We were totally opposed to the first Gulf War and lost half of our subscribers for opposing Operation Desert Storm.
Why did we resist the neocon wars? As one of our columnists, Malachi Martin, put it back in 1998 already: “The removal of Saddam Hussein is just another step in furthering what top people in the Bush Administration call the New World Order.”
Was Malachi Martin also a Nazi, Mark Levin?
By the way, people living in Republican glass houses probably shouldn’t throw stones. In this Underground, we look at the creepy connection between the actual Nazi Party and Prescott Bush – father of President George H.W. Bush, grandfather of President George W. Bush. You will not believe how far back along Skull and Bones Road this New World Order ideology goes.
One thing’s for sure – none of this is as it seems. We’re being had again! And, thank God, this time there will be no "coalition of the willing," as some powerful people are simply not going for an Iraq War redux.

Pope Leo’s Letter to the SSPX

The Latin Mass & the Great Debate of Summer 2026
Dear Friends: The Latin Mass will be THE topic of debate this summer. But do people really understand why that is?
The Latin Mass is the touchstone of the traditional Catholic Faith. If you don't understand it, you won't understand the essence of the upcoming debate over Catholic counterrevolution.

I also share some personal memories of the past 35 years walking to Chartres: https://youtu.be/F9bY2B-8Er0?si=jU6Lh...

Check out this week’s Underground on the coming clash between the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) and the Vatican: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0I8x...

The Post-Human Brave New World
Dear Friends: First they said God is dead.
What is this thing? Watch and share this week’s Underground: https://youtu.be/PCiF-yO9wDg?si=EDLmq...

CHRISTIAN ZIONISM: The Star Spangled Heresy
Dear Friends: It's official -- Christian Zionism is completely out of control. It has become Protestantism's loose cannon -- unhinged, untethered, and crashing back and forth on the deck of American Conservatism, threatening to sink the entire country beneath the angry waves of secularist Christophobia.
Has the United Stated become a Protestant confessional state?
Traditional Catholics used to see Protestantism as the heresy that tore Christendom in half. Today many are lining up behind it to go to war in the name of a New Messiah.
What in the literal HELL is going on here?
Please share this video before these heretical fanatics destroy our country: https://youtu.be/G_Ao-mVn-tU?si=wkApD...

Remove Blindfolds, Please
They're removing their blindfolds. If you’re ready to remove yours, watch this: https://youtu.be/VuhZhi9kG0k?si=c7hD8...

PS Do you think we’ve developed an unhealthy fixation on exorcism and demonic activity? We get into this, too. Let me know what you think.
