⚓ THE ORIGIN STORY: How I Became The Tagus’s Sailor! 🚂🏎️

Many of you have followed my journey here on Vasco Caldeira | Transport Observation, but tonight I want to share exactly how this passion came to life right here in Oeiras and Lisbon.

My obsession with transport observation started years ago on the railway platforms. I loved capturing the raw power, heavy engineering, and speed of locomotives cutting through the landscape. That same thrill naturally drew me to high-performance sportscars—tracking their design, aerodynamics, and pure exhaust notes.

But living right where the Tagus River meets the Atlantic Ocean, the ultimate calling was right in front of me. I realized that the heavy naval frigates, aircraft carriers, and historic tall ships navigating our river mouth are the grandest transport machines on Earth.

To honor our strategic waters, celebrate our 700-year maritime alliances, and deliver precise technical details to you, my persona "The Tagus's Sailor" was born!

After a 10-month break behind the lens following my tour of the Italian flagship Trieste last August, I officially broke my absence yesterday. I stepped back ON CAMERA using my brand-new Sony gear and DJI mini mics to capture the historic French Navy schooner FS Étoile departing at the 06:00 PM Golden Hour!

This weekend, the full 4K documentary drops right here with clean Option 1 technical overlays. Thank you for being part of this journey. The Tagus's Sailor is back, and we are just getting started! 🚀

🚂✈🚗 Hey everyone, how are you doing today.

I’ve been checking my channel analytics, and I found something interesting: 89% of my watch time comes from people who aren’t subscribed yet! 📊 That’s a huge number.

If we work together, I’d love to bring that number down to around 70% not subscribed – and that means more train, plane, and car content for all of you. 🚆✈🚘

👉 So, if you enjoy my videos and haven’t subscribed yet, please hit that Subscribe button – it helps the channel grow and supports me in bringing you even better content. 🙌

Thank you so much for the support – you’re the best community! ❤️

Stay safe out there, guys, and God bless you all.

Good afternoon, guys, how are you doing today.

I have bad news for you all: ´

As some of you know, my current camera, the FDR AXP55, has been more blurred than ever from the right side of the lens due to internal fungus being spread, which affects the image quality. One part of the lens is now permanently blurred.

🎯 That’s why I’m working hard to upgrade to the Panasonic HC-VXF1, a much better camera that will allow me to deliver clearer and more professional videos of trains, F1, aviation and more!

🙏 If you'd like to support my content and help make this upgrade happen faster, you can now do so on the Super Thanks.

Stay safe out there, guys, and God Bless you all.

✈️🚁 1 Year Ago Today – Oeiras Air Show 2024 🚁✈️

On this very day, the skies over Oeiras came alive with the roar of the Portuguese Navy’s Westland Lynx Mk95 helicopters. Their breathtaking demonstration – from the precision crossover passes to the dramatic carousel maneuvers and the Marines’ fast-rope insertion to a vessel below – left the crowd in absolute awe

⚓ These machines aren’t just helicopters; they are a symbol of skill, teamwork, and dedication. Every move flown that day represented countless hours of training by the Navy’s helicopter squadron.

✨ The moment when the two Lynx flew nose-to-nose, spiraling upwards before diving again, is still remembered as one of the highlights of the entire show. Many in the crowd had never seen such precision before in Portugal – and the reaction was simply unforgettable.

🙌 One year later, the memory still inspires. The Lynx continues to embody the power and pride of the Portuguese Navy, proving that Portugal can stand tall on the world stage of aviation demonstrations.

📸 Here’s to the Lynx Mk95 – and to the hope of seeing many more spectacular performances in the years ahead. 🚁🇵🇹

🚆✈🚗 We’re getting closer to another milestone! 🚗✈🚆

Hello everyone!

Hope you all are a magnificent day, I’m really excited to share that our channel has officially reached 6,243 subscribers! That’s 57 more amazing people joining us away from hitting the 6,300 mark. Every single one of you has helped this channel grow — whether you’ve been here from the beginning or just joined recently, I appreciate your support more than words can say.

Our journey together has been full of trains, cars, planes, and all the adventures in between. I’ve loved capturing these moments and sharing them with you, and knowing that so many of you enjoy watching makes it all worth it.

We’re on a mission to keep improving — better footage, more variety, and even more exciting content. I’m aiming to invest in better filming equipment like the Panasonic HC-VXF1, so that future videos can be even sharper, smoother, and more immersive. My current camera, the Sony FDR AXP55, has internal fungus, which affects the quality of the image, in other words, one part of the lens in permanently blurred.

If you want to support the channel even further, remember you can use Super Thanks on YouTube or join my Patreon for exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

Let’s push towards 6,300 together — and then, who knows how far we’ll go! 🚆📸

Thank you for being part of this journey! 🙏
