Nara Singha Speaks
Welcome to Conversations for Consciousness, my name is Nara Singha and I’m your host.
Why are such Conversations for Consciousness relevant, perhaps the most important and valuable conversations we can even have?
So first of all consider that what our consciousness is absorbed in – in other words externally, what we’re conscious Of, and internally, what, or who, we’re conscious As … is what gives us our experience of life.
And the path to a better life, a deeper and richer life, a higher life, begins with understanding what exactly Consciousness is.
So for instance, if you get some machine, maybe a computer or a car or a sailboat, you have to know what it is; what it is meant for; and how to take care of it - or you’re not going to realize the opportunities or advantages it offers.
So for instance, a car needs petrol, while a sailboat needs wind, and isn’t meant to be driven on the roads; while a computer needs electricity and isn’t meant to be used in the water! Another example, and not of a machine this time - say someone gave you an exotic animal to take care of, like a sloth perhaps – well if you don’t know what to feed it, or what it needs, you’re going to have a sick and unhappy sloth.
Bearing this in mind, if we take a good look at the society and world we live in; at the reality of our interactions with the earth and environment as a whole; with other countries and communities outside of our own; with other folks in our own society who may have different tastes and beliefs in music or politics or religion or whatever; and even when we look at so many modern family dynamics, at our own intimate partnerships, and at our mental, emotional and physical well-being … we could say that humanity in general, our modern society, is not healthy!
And that suggests we don’t know who we fundamentally are and what we need. We are conscious of, and absorbed in, so many things outside of ourselves … but how conscious are we of ourselves as conscious beings?
I look forward to receiving your questions and thoughts, Namaste, jaya Nitai-Gaura!
