Mi corazón sigue estando con el pueblo de Venezuela en estos días difíciles, y compartir el escenario en este momento inolvidable con mis queridos bolivaristas —quienes representan a toda la familia de El Sistema y a toda Venezuela— es una poderosa expresión de la fortaleza y la resiliencia de nuestro país. Reunirlos por primera vez en la historia junto a la extraordinaria Filarmónica de Nueva York, mientras me preparo para este nuevo y emocionante capítulo con ellos, es una hermosa expresión de unidad y amor a nivel mundial.

Las comunidades que construimos a través de la música siempre serán una fuente de fortaleza cuando más la necesitemos. ❤️

I am overjoyed to announce that, for the first-ever ‪@fifa‬ World Cup 2026™️ Halftime Show, I will conduct both my dear New York Philharmonic, and my sisters and brothers of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, joining Madonna, Shakira + Burna Boy, BTS, Justin Bieber, and PS22 Chorus (ft. My heart remains with the people of Venezuela in these difficult days, and to share the stage in this unforgettable moment with my beloved Bolivars – who represent the entire El Sistema family and all of Venezuela – is a powerful expression of the strength and resilience of our country. To bring them together for the first time in history alongside the extraordinary New York Philharmonic, as I prepare for this exciting new chapter with them, is a beautiful expression of global unity and love.

Es un honor inmenso para mí unirme a Madonna, Shakira, Burna Boy, BTS, Justin Bieber y al coro PS22 (con la participación de Coldplay) el próximo 19 de julio, en el primer espectáculo de medio tiempo de la historia de la Copa Mundial de la ‪@fifa‬ 2026. El espectáculo de medio tiempo, producido por ‪@GLBLCTZN‬ y curado por mi querido amigo Chris Martin, apoyará el Fondo de Educación de Global Citizen de la FIFA, que trabaja para ampliar el acceso a la educación de niños y niñas en todo el mundo.

Al dar vida a los diseños escénicos de nuestro querido Frank Gehry para estas representaciones de Die Walküre de los dos últimos fines de semana, siento como si siguiera hablando con mi amigo a través de sus ideas. Él siempre está presente a través de su obra y su ejemplo, mostrándonos cómo ser plenamente humanos: compasivos, abiertos y conectados.

Frank dijo una vez que no era músico porque no sabía leer música. No estoy de acuerdo. Es uno de nuestros mejores músicos, creando armonía, melodía y ritmo en el espacio y regalándonos estos edificios extraordinarios, cada uno de ellos un instrumento de inspiración para que toquemos.

In bringing our beloved Frank Gehry's set designs to life for these performances of Die Walküre these past two weekends, I feel as though I am still talking to my friend through his ideas. He is always present through his work and his example, showing us how to be fully human— compassionate, open, and connected.

Frank once said that he wasn’t a musician because he couldn’t read music. I disagree. He is among our finest musicians, creating harmony, melody, and rhythm in space and gifting to us these extraordinary buildings, each an instrument of inspiration for us to play.

Los Ángeles lleva grabada en mi corazón. Esta ciudad, su gente y los extraordinarios músicos de la ‪@laphil‬ han marcado mi crecimiento como artista y han compartido este capítulo tan profundo de mi vida. Juntos, hemos creado algo que se siente maravillosamente vivo. Pienso en las noches en el ‪@HollywoodBowlOfficial‬, bajo las estrellas, cuando la música parece flotar hacia el cielo y pertenecer a todos, y en YOLA, donde he visto cómo la música puede abrir puertas y transformar una vida.

Estas experiencias me han cambiado para siempre, y miro hacia el futuro con profunda gratitud y amor. Es un honor para mí continuar este viaje en mis dos nuevas funciones, como Laureado Artístico y Cultural de la Filarmónica de Los Ángeles, y Director Fundador y Director Laureado de YOLA, para seguir soñando, creando y sirviendo a esta maravillosa ciudad y a sus comunidades.

Y a los increíbles músicos de la LA Phil: gracias de todo corazón. Ha sido un verdadero privilegio construir junto a ustedes un sonido único y extraordinario, y nuestra inolvidable manera de hacer música siempre será parte de mí. ❤️

Los Angeles is written into my heart. This city, its people, and the extraordinary musicians of the LA Phil have shaped my growth as an artist and shared this profound chapter of my life. Together, we have created something that feels so beautifully alive. I think of the nights at the Hollywood Bowl, under the stars, when music seems to float into the sky and belong to everyone, and of YOLA, where I have seen how music can open doors and transform a life.

These experiences have changed me forever, and I look forward to the future with deep gratitude and love. I am honored to continue this journey in my two new roles, as Artistic and Cultural Laureate of the LA Phil, and Founding Director and Conductor Laureate of YOLA — to keep dreaming, creating, and serving this wonderful city and its communities.

And to the incredible musicians of the LA Phil: thank you with all my heart. It has been a true privilege to build a singular and extraordinary sound together with you, and our unforgettable music-making will always be a part of me. ❤️
