Traveling, such a fun experience when you’re in pain 😅 If you can make the experience a little better, you can lower your stress levels.
⤵️ Lowering your stress, means less nervous system anxiety. And the reduction of anxiety, leads to less inflammation and flare ups.
🧳 Learning how to keep your
nervous system calm BEFORE you travel is just as important.
➡️ You may experience “pre-travel anxiety”. Your body knows that it will be in pain or uncomfortable, so this can ramp up the fear and pain.
🛠️ For me, I find being armed with various options for mental and physical relief lowers my body’s anxiety.
✈️ I truly hope this travel gear video can help my fellow folks dealing with chronic pain and/or anxiety even just a little bit.
Extra Captain Martina notes:
In the past 5 years or so, I’ve done a lot of healing, and I realized just how important it is to understand what is triggering your #sympathetic and #parasympathetic nervous systems. You can remain “stuck” in a certain state of anxiety when you feel unsafe, and feeling “unsafe” doesn’t always mean physical abuse.
I strongly suggest looking up info on the “vagus nerve” and how it reacts and controls our bodies.
