I am struggling here! Does anyone else have any information on why IMovie is not downloading to my laptop. I had this start happening Sept 2024. After many visits to Apple Store and on telephone for hours with Apple support they could never find a solution. It ended up costing me months of progress on my channel and then the Apple staff said "maybe start using caput instead". Which I did. But I don't like as well. Probably just because it's different.... Apple also said the glitch might work itself out after several updates happen. Well now we have finally had the update to move from Sequoia to Tahoe. All the issues started with Sequoia so I was hopeful this update would be the one to finally fix the issue. So I miraculously downloaded my fireplace video that was over 30 min long. It worked! Again. Very hopeful the situation was fixed. Then I tried another video. 10 minutes long. Struggle after struggle to get it to download. Took me 2 days. I thought that was due to me updating my phone and noticing that when I dowloaded some pics off the new phone it had the same numbering to it of a different already saved pic. I did go in and rename the ones that did this so I could keep them both. I was thinking the information attached to these files was causing the confusion with the I movie program while downloading the completed project. But, I am now trying to download another longer video and I can't get it to download. My storage is not even half full. so that is not the issue. I have done updates on both iMovie and Tahoe. Still no success in making the download to my laptop.

I would just use caput again, but last time I tried inserting my completed project into caplet, just to attach all the individual pieces back together in chronological order as it was the only way I could download from iMovie was in separate 5 min sections. I used no elements from capcut at all as I had already had the project completed but it still was indicating I had used their pro elements and could not download that without buying the pro program when I used nothing in their platform. Just wanted to glue it all back together and have it downloaded onto my desktop in 1 piece.
So obviously Tahoe has not fixed the situation. Capcut is now another situation. And as of the time all this started happening, Apple said they had not had any other complaints of similar problems from anyone else! How can this just be happening to me and how can it be fixed? Others must have just known how to fix it because I do not see how I can be the only person who started having problems with iMovie downloading after the Sequoia Update in '24. Apple also said buying a new laptop was not a guarantee to fix the issue either. Since they had already downloaded my entire computer on a backup drive. Wiped my computer clean and re-installed everything, with no success they figure the issue would just be put onto the new lap top as well. Thinking it is something attached to all the files that gets back up and then reinstalled.... 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am not a technilogical kind of person. I learn what I have to and I rely on it working like it should. All of this is making me think I should just give up on the whole YouTube Journey.... Which is a sad outcome since I have so much more creativity to share and a light at the end of the tunnel on being able to provide more consistent content in the near future. I am so close to not having half a life in two states, 9 hours away from each other. When that happens I can stay more consistent. IF, I can get some functioning technology. Does anyone else have these issues? How do you make your YouTube videos? What platforms should I be using? I Don't know what to ask, but if anyone understands what I am explaining that is happening and knows how I can fix it can you please advise?

Right now I am trying to share with my followers an up-styled vintage dresser that I turned into my bathroom vanity. This has been in the works for months and I finally have running water at a bathroom vanity! So much excitement to share just to be replaced with completely opposite feelings because I can not download the video after all the hours spent editing it from 8 or more hours of footage down to under an hour. 😒 SO FRUSTRATING....

I am hoping to get furniture up-style videos out more consistently this year. I have about 10-12 pieces in storage that have been waiting for me. I do have some cool ideas floating about on a few of them already. I wish I could move faster, to get them all out and free up mind power and space, but I am only 1 person and Tauruses have been known to be slower and more methodical. I own that! So keep checking back, I will have no set schedule. I have freed that burden from me. Plus I will still be doing interior painting jobs for clients and when I have a job, they are priority, and these other bits get put to the side. Sometimes a job can be a few days, sometimes a couple months. So that will be a big reason for the delays in putting out content. I do have my first interior painting job for a client (since my move) coming up here next week! So exciting to be getting started building a clientele here!!!

Just got back from a two week vacation. This trip has been in the plans for years now. I saved while my daughter was growing up to take her to a place she really wanted to visit one day. And the time finally came when we could find an opening within our busy schedules to finally go. I love to travel but haven't really been able to afford it for many years now. The money I intentionally saved for her was never to be touched for anything other than this trip (which is a graduation from HS gift) or her college needs. She graduated 2 years ago.... well at least we finally made it! We had so much fun, the three of us, three generations of single women. If anyone hasn't yet but has plans with your family to one day do something big... Go for it. You never know when you won't have that chance to spend such amazing quality time together exploring other parts of the world. Watching people in other cultures is an eye opener for sure. You can see their cultural priorities are different. And you can learn interesting things by asking questions. I plan to put together a little overview of our trip in the next couple of weeks to share with all of you who are interested.

So, I spent well over 5 hours at the Apple Store yesterday. They wiped my computer clean... again... and did a reinstall. Did all the diagnostics and nothing shows there should be a problem but IMovie still would not download. After my last time there it was left with the suspicion there was a compatibility issue between the new Sequoia program and IMovie. It was suggested that I work at figuring which files were causing issues, rebuild my IMovies shortening them, and hopefully with the next updates the clichés would be worked out. Well the newest updates were done last week and then I was back to the IMovie not downloading at all no matter how short I made it. I did try splitting it in half and that still did not work. So this time it was confirmed that the only thing left was that there definitely is a compatibility issue and there is not a lot of documentation of that problem online so they had no direction to go at this time to make them compatible. My case is forwarded to the engineering department but it was recommended to try another platform to build my videos on so now I will be trying CapCut. I had success in moving my lMovie ( I had already spent loads of time editing) over to CapCut I min at a time; but we got there. Since this was not ideal, there was a couple clips cut-off that I could not fix but felt it was not the worst problem so went ahead and uploaded it to YouTube so people can finally see what Mom's space turned out to be. I am hoping that since this did work out while I was in the store that CapCut is going to be continuously compatible and I learn this program reasonably quick. Sorry for the delays in content since Sept/Oct. Thanks for bearing with me while I worked through this issue in the most cost effective way I can at this point. I will say it was recommended that I go this route instead of buying a new computer because with the compatibility issues they suspected it would still be a problem with a new computer. What I do plan on updating soon is the phone for better video and picture quality. But first I want to learn this new CapCut program. Then after that brain overload smooths out I can get a new phone that will be another learning curve. I can only take so much new technology at a time. Well, That's it! I've had it! I'm throwing in the towel!!! I am struggling yet again with uploading a video. I have even split it in half and still can't get it to go. I've done the current updates. Things are worse. I can't afford it but I have to get new technology equipment / devices. Hopefully I can get the issues resolved by doing so. Hopefully I'll be up and running again soon....

Well, it's happening again. I was already delayed in getting my next video out because of all the stuff needed sorted and hung after 2 Men and a Truck brought Mom's first load. That took about 4 days to get a good handle on. Not that it's done by any means, but at least there's space to maneuver around again. So then I finished editing my trim video. And for the last two days I have been trying to download onto desktop to upload to my channel. And it is still not working. This one is under 20 minutes, so I am not understanding the issue. I am trying to learn how to notice if a file is corrupted wondering if that is the issue. IDK. I'll keep trying and hopefully be able to get this out sometime soon. The other video back in October never would download and I rebuilt it several times before giving up. I don't want this to be a repeat.

I've been trying for the last two days to upload my next video. I can't even get the thing to download onto the desktop (it's only 27 mins) in order to upload it. IMovie just keeps freezing up and I've sent the reports in. I've done the updates. The only thing left to do is check for malware, virus', or whatever. Mom is moving down today. I need to try to finish as much as possible in her space so I simply don't have time to struggle with technology right now. I apologize in the delays of my videos here lately, but there seems to be update after update that keeps causing problems. I just would rather things stay the same so I can keep using what I'm used to! Anybody feel me??? LOL.

It looks like I've finally hit the numbers, getting enough views for a check to be cut. My account has been verified with the minimal drop and soon I will be getting an actual deposit. It is small by comparison to other creators who have hit the mark building their brands; But this small amount took me over 2 years to get too, so it is a huge golden ribbon to me! And my goal is not to make huge bucks. It's to encourage others, especially woman, that you can do anything you set your mind to! Anyone else who is trying, don't give up. Persevere.

Hello Everyone! I hope you all have been enjoying your summer so far. I have been busy. As I am sure all of you have been as well. I found myself without internet again. When I returned from a visit to Indiana, staying with my daughter, there was a storm that went through and fried my power unit. I have been waiting for the replacement unit to arrive, but it just means I may not get messages from viewers until I make it back down to town or get the replacement parts I'm waiting for. I did want to foreshadow that while I was with my daughter we finished many projects on her list that will be a future release. I also finished a table that I had started before my move. It had a few mishaps along the way but it finally got finished and put into the booth and has already sold. That video will be forthcoming as well. Take care everyone. Enjoy your week!
