So, You Want to be an Imagineer

Our hearts go out to the friends and family of Adam the Woo. This one hurts, it hurts a lot. Adam was a true trailblazer of the theme park vlogging community and had the same level of passion for travel that I aspire to. This is a shock to the system in so many ways. On a lot of levels I considered Adam a peer of mine though our paths never crossed beyond a momentary in person sighting. I just can't, man. It's going to take a while for reality to set in with this.

So, You Want to be an Imagineer

Our hearts go out to the late Jonathan Joss. Right at the start of Pride month, it makes me sick to see such a senseless and horrible act of violence committed in the name of an anti-gay agenda. I truly hope this is a turning point in raising awareness at just how dangerous the current political climate is. Such a senseless, tragic loss on every conceivable level. - Tiki

So, You Want to be an Imagineer

Get ready for some WILDCARDS, BITCHES!! Following tonight's Golden Tikis Nomination Ceremony we will be putting two polls up per day where two of Tiki and PerGron's wild card picks for each category will go head to head against each other to secure the fourth and final nomination slot of any given category. I think this will be a really fun and engaging way to give the audience a voice when it comes to the nominations. The polls will only be up for about 24 hours so if you see one pop up be sure to vote!

So, You Want to be an Imagineer

In case anyone missed this detail, Moana 2 is NOT a proper Walt Disney Animation Studios movie despite being released under that banner. It's essentially the modern day equivalent of a DisneyToons sequel and what is in the movie wasn't even intended on being a movie. The "film" is a literal cobbled together hodge podge of footage created for the shelved Moana TV series.

Folks, the fact that THIS literally doubled Wicked's opening weekend gross and will likely be the biggest financial hit of the year is genuinely SCARY and sets a very dangerous precedent for the future of the company. If Moana 2 continues to be a runaway hit, I'm truly concerned the message audiences are sending and that the company will pick up on is that it's literally not worth putting any creative effort into their projects. Imagine the quality of the DisneyToons sequels being the status quo for theatrically released Disney movies going forward. That's the timeline we're currently faced with.

In over a decade of running this channel (WAAAAY longer than that if you count my entire run as "Tiki" on various Disney fan sites) I've never been so compelled to speak out and take a stand. I know I'm a small voice, I know this will be a literal drop in the bucket, but I have to TRY. I very much believe the future of Disney as a CREATIVE enterprise hangs in the balance and the only thing I can think to do is spread the word and straight up boycott Moana 2. My ultimate goal with this is for the movie to have a dramatic week two drop at the box office and for Wicked to reclaim the top spot. If this movie goes on a run as big as Inside Out 2, I absolutely think the effect such a success will have on the future of the company's creative output will be DEVESTATING.

Join me tonight at 10PM Eastern/7PM Pacific for an impromptu stream where I lay out my thoughts and make the pledge to avoid giving this movie a cent of my own money.
