Byodoji Temple was built by Kobo Daishi Kukai with the vow to ``Equally heal all people's mental and physical illnesses''. The principal object of worship is Yakushi Nyorai. Every day, we pray for a healthy mind and body, recovery from illness, prevention of cancer, healthy legs and lower back, good luck in warding off evil, and good luck for the rest of your life.
