When I was 19 years old, I experienced something that changed my life forever.
One night, while lying in bed, I suddenly became aware of a presence in my room. The darkness felt different. It was heavy. I was awake, but I couldn't move. I couldn't speak. Fear came over me unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
As I stared into the darkness, I sensed something standing in the room. Every part of me wanted to move, to cry out, to do something, but I felt completely powerless. The fear was overwhelming, and for a moment I thought I was alone.
But in that moment, I remembered what I had been taught about the power of God.
With everything inside me, I began calling on the name of Yeshua. I prayed for Yahweh's protection and asked Him to deliver me from what I was experiencing. As I continued to pray, the fear began to leave. The darkness that seemed so powerful moments before suddenly had no authority.
What filled the room next was not fear, but peace.
The presence that had terrified me was gone, and in its place was a calmness that can only come from God. I knew that night that Yahweh was real, that Yeshua hears us when we call upon Him, and that no power of darkness can stand against the light of God.
Years later, I wrote "Shadow in the Room" to tell that story.
This song is not just music. It is a testimony.
It is a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we are never alone. No matter how strong fear may seem, no matter how dark the night becomes, the light of Yahweh is greater.
My prayer is that this song encourages anyone who has ever faced fear, spiritual battles, depression, anxiety, or moments where they felt completely alone. When darkness comes, remember that the light still shines.
The darkness still flees.
And Yeshua HaMashiach is forever victorious.
