We finally had a day without rain, so you already know where I was.
I thinned out the radishes, probably need to thin them more. Cucumbers are still sprouting up and the marigolds are beginning to pop!
Not Pictured is me power washing my neighbors garage 🤣. Since I had the power washer out, I cleaned those small stones that were deep in the dirt and made them a border in the front garden, still needs edging tho.
And whoever said you HAVE to start rosemary indoors, never met me. I got my first rosemary sprout today and it’s so cute and tiny 🥹
Transforming my garden/yard has been so much fun! Imma sleep good tonight!

I had the opportunity to flex my florist muscle today at Healthy Habits for Seniors Mother’s Day event for the second year in a row.
I didn’t keep track of how many bouquets I made, but once I’m in the zone, it’s go time! Today was so much fun! I can’t wait to do things like this when I have my own garden.

I came to water my seedlings and Evil Kitty said, “not today!” Jk he’s not really evil, he was mid blink. He’s actually the sweetest boy.
Once I got him out of the way, I bottom watered all of my trays and I’m so excited about my baby sprouts 🤗
Since I’m not here everyday, I was worried about them drying out between waterings. On Monday, I placed a humidifier in the indoor greenhouse, then put it on a 3-hour daily timer. I did have to adjust the lights because the seedlings were reaching, but so far so good!
It looks like it worked perfectly, they dried out enough to get watered again, but not too much to where the seedlings would die.
I freaking love gardening!!! 👩🏾🌾🌱

My Cosmo babies germinated so quick, I just sowed them last week!
Today, I watered them, then moved them under a lower grow light so they don’t get leggy trying to reach too high for light.

Yesterday, I went live on Substack with a very beginner friendly yoga practice. This full body experience, is a complete floor practice that focuses on finding ease in our neck, all the way to our hips. Its an invitation to slow down and move mindfully, great for writers!

As I sit at my desk, garden planning for the upcoming season, I find myself reflecting on my most recent season in the garden.
Last season was the first time I had a completely full garden. All 12 beds, filled with breathtaking blooms, something I struggled with my first season as a freelance gardener.
Getting there was hard work, for the most part, I did it alone, with the help of a few volunteers throughout the season. I’m still in awe that this is work I get paid to do. God did his big one leading me in this direction.
Anyways, here’s a pic of me in my full garden.

Yesterday I spent some time in the garden admiring the new blooms and mourning the flowers that have reached their peak and are beginning to die.
Gardening is a constant reminder of the cycles of life. Although the flowers are reaching their end, they’ll bloom again in the spring 💕🥹

I found something to be proud of. Every time I’m in the garden, I’m reminded of what it feels like to nurture myself and my seeds.
I didn’t think gardening would change me the way that it has, but I’m calmer, more grounded, and self assured. I know what I’m doing, who I am, and what I was put on this Earth to accomplish.
I thank God for the people who have been placed in my life to assist me in carrying out this purpose. My steps have been ordered and I’m waking this path with confidence.

Blooms from today’s garden adventure!
Seed starting/planting season was hard. I had mold every other week, and then flea beetles went to town on my amaranth. I didn’t think the garden would flourish the way it has this season.
I’m learning in gardening you really can’t give up. There were plenty of times I was ready to hang it up, but if I did, I wouldn’t have made it to this point. I’m learning as I go, and that’s what makes it fun!
Thanking God for resilience and the patience to try new things!
