I’m Alex Belville, a Wisconsin-based video creator, FAA Part 107 drone pilot, and founder of Mirrorless Productions. For over a decade, I’ve created cinematic, story-driven films for brands, nonprofits, athletes, and organizations, including work with Bose, Tabasco, and Gary Vaynerchuk.

On this channel, I take you behind the scenes of my filmmaking journey and show what it really looks like to build a video production company. I’ve created more than 500 videos, and everything I share comes from real projects, real experience, and personal growth. I didn’t pick up a camera until I changed my life, which is why storytelling matters so much to me. I tell other people’s stories because I have my own.

If you’re a young filmmaker or creator trying to improve your work, build your brand, or grow your business, I’m here to help. My goal is simple: help you grow your creative business by sharing my journey and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Let’s get connected.

It all started back in 2013 with my first real mirrorless camera, the Sony A57. That camera didn’t just capture my early work—it helped inspire the name of my production company. In 2015, I switched to Lumix and spent the next 10 years shooting with their cameras.

Amazing image quality, rock solid in so many ways—but in recent years, autofocus and low-light performance became more of a challenge. I made it work, shooting manual focus for everything, but over the last two years, there were moments I wished I had something faster.

I kept seeing filmmakers rave about the Sony FX3 and found myself watching endless YouTube videos about it. Finally, last summer, I made the jump and started using the FX3 as my main camera for all client projects. And I’ll be honest—it’s been a game-changer!

The autofocus is rock solid. The low-light performance is unreal. And I love the 4K 120p slo-mo. But beyond all that, it’s given me an extra spark—and an even bigger smile behind the camera.
