Echoes of Aincrad is so boring I'm struggling to even review it. I don't think I'm going to make it to the end of floor two. I've been doing the same shit for 20+ hours.
It's so insane to me that a certain part of the community made me out to be a villain because I pointed out, in advance, what reviews are now confirming. I told everyone exactly what would be in this game, I did the research, I've watched so many dev q/a's and other content creator impressions. This was always going to be a mid, 6/10 game. WHICH IS FINE! This game fills a certain niche for a certain set of gamers! We should be happy we have that option. But call a spade a spade, Echoes of Aincrad is typical Bandai slop and definitly NOT up to par for $70.
I'm probably going to be making two impression videos 1. As a sword art gameverse fan and 2. As a JRPG fan.
I feel like a lot of reviews probably don't have the perspective of being a gameverse fan so I want to provide a context for my fellow gamers that have been in these worlds for the past decade with me.
IGN may have released their Echoes of Aincrad review too early, but it looks like they scored it a 6/10. While IGN isn't really the gold standard for reviews and frankly I would never look to them for a review, the person who wrote the article has given almost all 8-9 scores on their JRPG reviews. The only other time in the past 5 years they gave a 6 score was for Bandai's Scarlet Nexus lol.
Going to be livestreaming the Sword Art Online, Echoes of Aincrad demo tomorrow. It'll be a good way to test the livestream quality for when the game fully releases and give honest first impressions.
Talking about SAO is always a good time, but next video I want to focus on "deeper" topics. Here are the three video ideas I've been working on, if anyone's interested let me know which one they'd like a video on most.
Working on the next video. I have no background in video editing btw so I'm learning in real time how to do everything. I heard somewhere that you should try to improve one thing every video or learn 1 thing every video. It took me over an hour to figure out this stupid 3 second edit where I replace the screen with another image. It still isn't perfect but It's one of those things you have to get over and just keep moving forward with the video.
I said it in my last video, Dandadan is headed down a bad path. Maybe not as bad as CSM but, to me, the writing has once again been on the wall. I call it out and people ask what I'm talking about, or treat it like hate for the sake of hate, until finally they see a "breaking point." Seems like Dandadans latest chapter was a small wake up call for that community. What I don't get is how people are only just realizing the problems with the writing in these stories.
Oh my god, this has got to be one of the laziest endings to a popular series I have ever seen! I'm laughing my ass off, the slander for this series is going to go crazy! I really want to do a psycho-analysis of Denji to go over the idea that he was never truly happy, how his trauma went untreated, there's a lot of ways to tackle it from the psychology perspective but oh my god. As a reader, this ending is so bad it's hilarious. "It was all a bad dream"
