I have recently written a one-shot for the MOTHERSHIP rpg system and setting. Looking forward to running it soon on the āŖ@RxOliverā¬ channel and āŖ@brotherhoodofthediceā¬ channel
Finally got round to Session 4 of Rapture Protocol yesterday.. It was tons of fun and the players really enjoyed it, video will be up later today. Things ramped up! #ttrpg#alienrpg
Since leaving the gaming ācommunityā (I hate that word) I have never been happier in the online world..
There was so much toxicity in that space it became hard to bite my tongue and not say anything..
There are channels that present themselves as wholesome.. as friendly.. as passionate even..
But the people that run some of these channels are nothing more than snakes.. they are in it for one thing, themselves! But they cloak all this in a veil of āwelcome to my community, I will help you, I will support you yadda yaddaā but the minute you show a modicum of success.. they will drop you like a sack of spuds, bad mouth you behind your back and actively go out of their way to spread lies about you..
The gaming space is not a wholesome place.. there are definitely good people in it and I have met a few and still talk to them..
But the shit housery that goes on.. it was never going to work for me..
Iāve recently got into playing RPGās (D&D, Call of Cthulhu etc) and love it.. its ignited a bit of passion into me for a hobby and Iāve missed that feeling..
I get theyāre not for everyone.. just the same way gaming isnāt for everyone..
I will be posting videos of my sessions but I donāt expect you to watch them.. youāre not the audience for these videos..
For a while Iāve questioned the content I put on the channel.. Iāve chased views, Iāve tried niches like simulation, horror etc but it always felt like I was doing it for the wrong reasons.. gaming was and still is an escape..
Playing an RPG with other people is the same thing, just it involves more creativity and improvisation.. itās a creative conversation whilst crafting a story and adventure
Anyway.. I will still put gaming stuff on here but also other stuff too..
This was never about making money.. I hit the goal of 1K subs and of that Iām proud.
Youāre all amazing people. Do what makes you happy, not what makes others happy!
If you stick around then thank you.. if you disappear because āitās not for youā then thank you also
There are 5 types of people you should generally avoid, whether in real life or online
1. The chronic complainer - someone that is always complaining and being negative, it is exhausting and can sap the energy out of a room quickly - not the same as venting
2. Fake people, the type who are friendly and nice to your face, but will gladly talk sh*t about you behind your back
3. Passive Aggressive people - those snidey comments come from a place of superiority and are designed to make you feel smallā¦ Not the same as sarcasm or banter (although these are forms of passive aggression)
4. Highly judgmental people - judgment allows us to set standards.. But when every conversation becomes criticism of you, of others and everything, it can become toxic
5. The shadow āfriendā - the ones that disappear or go silent when you need support, but suddenly reappear when they need a favour, advice or validation.. One sided relationships and these people only show up or are nice when it benefits them
