The Pulsar Service & Support Centre is back at the British Shooting Show 2025!
Just like last year, highly trained technicians from Thomas Jacks (our exclusive UK & ROI distributor) will be at the show all weekend.
So, if you’ve noticed a little wear and tear to the high use components on your favourite Pulsar device (for instance, a perished eyecup or a lens cap that’s looking a little worse for wear) join us on the Pulsar stand (B6) from Feb 14-16 and, if we have the parts and can perform your complimentary repair on-site, we’ll have it back to you on the same day.
The Service & Support Centre will be open each day at the show from 09:00-14:00. Please note: this is an in-show, on-the-day service only and cannot be pre-booked. Please allow a minimum of two hours for our technicians to complete the work on your device.

Introducing sNETD (System NETD), Pulsar’s new terminology designed to cut through confusing marketing language and let you know exactly what your device is capable of straight out of the box.
When it comes to thermal imaging devices, there are two types of NETD ratings: system and sensor.
Sensor NETD refers to the minimum temperature difference that the sensor can distinguish at a fixed noise level without factoring in additional enhancements, such as image processing algorithms and filters. Therefore, the Sensor NETD denotes what the sensor is capable without the help of additional software. This is the figure that Pulsar has always quoted.
Many other brands have started quoting the System NETD. This value refers to the sensor’s capabilities with additional help from software algorithms. Pulsar will now be including this figure in their specifications.
Careful and optimal selection of image processing algorithms and filters can reduce noise levels whilst retaining useful signals and details.
However, some manufacturers overuse these processing algorithms — achieving lower System NETD ratings at the cost of image quality and quoting them as the only NETD value. In achieving this lower NETD value, they sacrifice fine details and offer a less informative thermal image.
This can also result in image lag or blur when the device is in motion, which means a device that performs well when static can present a degraded image when searching or scanning the field of view. This can pose a problem for any thermal imaging device, but it becomes a much more substantial issue when using a thermal imaging riflescope.
Image processing algorithms and smoothing filters can only improve the value of the System NETD — the Sensor NETD will always remain the same.
The reason Pulsar has decided to list both of these calculations is to offer a little more clarity. We believe that, with many brands currently listing their System NETD as their only NETD value; their true NETD value is being hidden and users are unable to accurately compare the specifications of these thermal imaging devices, meaning they may end up with a device that does not perform as well as they believed it would.
