Downvent is a fictional anime band with real music. Born in a basement. Raised in a storyboard.

Downvent is the sound of a 90s-era anime that never existed—until now. Blending grungy, emotional alt-rock with character-driven storytelling, this project began as a collection of songs written and recorded over years of late nights, memory loops, and DIY obsession.

The band may be fictional, but the music is real. Every track was performed and produced solo, in the spirit of early-90s garage tapes and lo-fi demos—raw, imperfect, and honest. Originally meant for a real band, the songs eventually became the foundation for something bigger: a full anime narrative, complete with scripts, concept art, and a fully built world behind the music.

Set in the fictional forgotten city of Nayasa Bay, the story follows Downvent’s rise through the underground—equal parts heartbreak, distortion, and half-healed friendships. The characters came to life through music first, then sketches, then scenes.
