A bit of Fins and Zion lore:

They met when they were young teens. Zion was badly BADLY injured and had no memories of his past. Fins on the other hand was extremely lonely and needed someone to cling onto.
Fins rescued Zion when they were still strangers and Zion was in a coma for months before their first official meeting. But ever since Zion woke up (about 10 years ago!), Fins and Zion have basically been attached at the hip!
