Animator specialising with goo engine and blender! Inspired by 90's anime such as cowboy bepop, akira and ghost in the shell, I aim to revitalise a classic aesthetic and bring it into the modern age.
I'm back from my hiatus and I'm dropping something I've been working on for the last couple of months. The channels very first original pilot! It'll release in 6 hours from now at 1am AEST. Me and a few friends have been working together on a complete pipeline to make the most convincing 3D anime possible and we're pretty glad with the results. This is not based on any fandoms and is our first original work, so it'll be extra difficult to spread the word, so if anyone shares it around I'll be extra appreciative.
I just wanted to say to all the new comers and give a quick status update!
If you subbed recently from the helldivers videos I appreciate it a ton. For the last few months I've been pursuing further study into animation and focusing on work, I plan on releasing another video before the end of the year though! Expect this to look a hell of a lot better with further building on the npr 3D-2D style. In the meantime keep an eye out at BCON next week you might see some of my work there.
When I started the new channel I unironically did not expect to get to 10,000 subscribers again so quickly. I started the animation channel out of fun and for the pursuit of learning and experimentation, seeing people so become so rapidly interested in what I'm making now has been fulfilling beyond words. Every day I spend making animations I learn something new. It's surprising and exciting at the same time and while it can get difficult at times it all feels like its building towards something better and better everyday which pays back the effort 5 fold.
I wasn't always like this though, and some of you who are new might not know I had an old channel. I used to have a personal need to upload content on a weekly basis, was paralyzed by fear at the algorithm and the reception of subscribers and constantly sought their approval for every little decision I made on the old channel. It had dire consequences not just on me but those around me. One day I realized that living by the standards of others is no way to lead a fulfilling channel or life for that matter. I was sick of the weepiness that I had grown into a habit and made a commitment to a pursued interest instead. When I took responsibility for that and focused on discipline rather than an immediate reward, things started getting better, little by little at first, but then by a lot.
That's not to say I did this alone. I owe some of this to the friends I've made in the blender community, without their help I wouldn't have been able to learn and progress as fast as I have in the last year.
This isn't the normal milestone message but I wanted to talk about this because it's important. Find something you care about and give to it a little bit everyday simply because you love it, and help others do the same and soon enough you'll find it giving back to you in ways that are unexpected.
This just leaves me excited for the future, so I just wanted to say we're only just getting started and thank you.
BTW there's a new animated short! Been playing a lot of helldivers 2 recently so I wanted to something done for it. click here to watch it youtube.com/shorts/d8hBZocQl4...
