Thank you so much for almost 2 million views on my new song "Nervous System Regulation" in under a month. Can't tell you how much that means 🤍🤍 Many of you have asked for it so I also released it today on Spotify and all other streaming services. Hope it brings you some peace and quite in these noisy and turbulent times we live in.
I'm currently at home in the Black Forest and almost my whole team is here with me for a little workation.
What began as a solo project a few years ago slowly became a collaboration with some of my closest friends, which quietly turned into a real team. Looking around at everyone here, it still catches me off guard how much has changed over the years and much we have grown. So grateful that this is my life and that these are the people I spend it with.
We came here to actually be together. Most of us work from home, each in our own space and rhythm, and while that setup works well, there's something it can't replace. Those small, unplanned moments between the meetings and the tasks, where you actually get to know someone a little better. That's what this week is all about.
Hope you are all well and happy with where you are in life right now. Sending you lots of love from the Black Forest, from me and the whole team 🤍
Here’s the fourth thing that really helped me to regulate my nervous system. It’s probably a pretty obvious one, but I still think it’s worth mentioning: prioritizing family and friends.
Over the last few years, I've rebuilt strong relationships with my family and close friends. I spent a lot of time alone in the Black Forest during those years, time that shaped me deeply, but I could also feel how loneliness had weakened me in a quiet, subtle way. Now that I have these strong connections around me, I know I can reach out when I truly need to. That sense of security is worth more than I can say. So here's your reminder: reach out to that friend you haven't spoken to in a while and ask how they're really doing. When we come together in an authentic and honest way, there's an unshakable strength in that.
And the last one is practicinging gratitude.
This practice came into my life in recent years, after my social media presence grew rapidly and my reach expanded. My life had changed so much and I had more financial stability and freedom than ever before, but I couldn't really feel it on the inside. That was the moment I realized something was off. My mind was constantly searching for reasons to feel miserable, even as I looked around and found so much abundance in my life. So I started reminding myself of everything I'm grateful for, and every time I did, I could feel my chest opening up and the tension leaving my body. This is something I now practice everywhere and all the time: driving, being on the playground with my son, grocery shopping, having meetings with my team, recording new music. It's a subtle shift in perspective, and it can be the most powerful practice there is, especially when you're going through a really dark chapter in your life.
As promised, here are two more things that have really helped me calm my nervous system. (Check my latest post if you don't know what this is about)
First one probably helped me more than anything else. Playing handpan. Yeah, I know, it's maybe the most obvious one coming from me ;) but I really mean it. When I discovered the handpan back in the day, I was completely hooked on what it did to my inner world and how it made me feel. After learning to play it, it became my number one tool for self-expression. Going into expression before my nervous system shuts down helps me release emotions that I couldn't fully feel when they first arose. I'm endlessly grateful to have this kind of regulation tool and I've seen how the handpan has transformed the lives of many of my students as well. So if you're thinking about getting a handpan and aren't sure whether it's worth investing your time in, I can't recommend it enough. It changed my life, and again, I really mean it.
And the second one is disabling notifications on my phone. For me this one has become a necessity for navigating daily life. I receive constant messages every day and always try to engage with everyone who reaches out, but it can become quite a struggle. Every time your phone vibrates or flashes a notification, something inside you wants to react and respond. If you simply follow those impulses, you get pulled in. Research shows that excessive screen time can have a significant impact on the nervous system, keeping it in an activated state that makes true rest nearly impossible. Finding the balance between staying connected and creating space for myself is an ongoing challenge. It's about staying aware and acting intentionally, especially when you notice that the phone is starting to take over.
Over the past few months I've been uploading some relaxing "Nervous System" videos and somehow they feel different from everything else I share. Not only by the number of people they reach, but also by how many of you seem to really appreciate and need this kind of videos. And I totally get it, there’s so much going on in the world right now, on top of everything that’s happening in our personal lives. I, for example, am a dad, I'm involved in different projects, I run several companies with people depending on me and I share my life as a handpan artist with a huge audience every single day. I'm often so overwhelmed with all of it. And what these videos have shown me is that I’m not alone in this. Over the last couple of years, I've started actively practicing some methods that started to really help me to stay calm in everyday life, so I thought, why not share the five things that help me the most. I'll be sharing them with you over the next couple of days. Maybe there's something in it for you too 🤍
Here is the first one, physical exercise. Having a physical practice has enormously changed how my body feels throughout daily life. Not once have I finished a training session or practice and felt worse for it. Today the science is clear and the health benefits are well-documented. I've explored different modalities from yoga and calisthenics to running and classical strength training and all of them have been incredible in their own way. Over the years I've found what truly works for me, and I encourage you to try things out and stick with what feels best for you. I try to keep it up every day, but as a parent that hasn't always been possible and it shouldn't stress you out if you can't maintain the practice either. The moment will come when you can recommit.
many of you have shared that my music helps you fall asleep and over the years I've gotten lots of requests for longer videos. Together with @changeofcolours we put together an 8 hour session for you, no commercial breaks, just the soothing sounds of the handpan that carry you through the night. I hope you enjoy it and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'm really excited to share that 'Inner Motion', a collab between @TWOLANES and me is out now on all streaming platforms and also here on YouTube. We started working on this track two years ago, not really knowing where it would go. What began as a simple studio collaboration slowly evolved into something much more meaningful and turned into a genuine friendship along the way. I hope you enjoy it. Sending love 🤍🤍
I wanted to give you a little life update. I’ve been on tour through Europe for the past 3 weeks and got back home yesterday. The tour itself was truly, truly wonderful. So many different people from all over the world coming together to listen to me and my music. I can’t put into words how much that means to me and how special it feels to play on stage in front of hundreds of people. It’s something I’ll never take for granted and something I’ll always be grateful to have had the chance to experience it.
A big thanks to everyone who was there, you made the last three weeks really special and thanks to everyone who lets my music be a part of their lives.
Sending lots of love from a place of deepest gratitude 🤍🤍
I hope you are all doing well. I am currently touring through Europe and it has been a really beautiful journey so far. Every night brings new moments and memories. Deeply grateful for this experience 🤍
Some of the concerts are being recorded and will soon be shared here on YouTube. A lot of love and work goes into creating these videos, so they will be released as member videos. For everyone who joins the membership, there will be one extra video each month in addition to the regular ones, with different kinds of content. Sometimes it will be concert recordings, sometimes behind the scenes moments from the road, and other little glimpses along the way.
If this resonates with you, you are warmly invited to join. I would be very happy to see you there 🤍
