»» WARNING: THIS CHANNEL WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU SEE THE WORLD (and your childhood) FOREVER ««
► Hello there! My name is Jon Solo! Every week I break down the Messed Up Origins™ of your favorite myths and fairytales from childhood! Did you know that every country has their own version of Cinderella? Or that Pinocchio was killed at the end of his original story? It's true! And you can learn ALL about that and more here on the channel. From Little Red Riding Hood cannibalizing her grandmother to Zeus's hundredth love affair, NOTHING is off limits! My goal is to not only spread awareness about these tales, but also educate viewers on their importance and why humans around the world have all been telling the same stories for thousands of years.

Kalimera, Solo Fam! I’m currently in Greece on the Messed Up Origins Field Trip — and enjoying every second of being in this beautiful, ancient world! I’ve still got videos coming out this week and next, they might just be a day late since I’m away from my desk and outta my normal routine. I’m hyped to tell you all about the experience when I come back.
P.S. Thank you all for your love and support over the years. Without your encouragement of my unhealthy obsession with folklore and myth none of this would be possible, and I thank the gods every day for bringing us all together. 🙏

It can't be a coincidence that Palantir posted their manifesto just 2 weeks before Animal Farm was released in theaters... can it? ಠ_ಠ
These are only 7 of the 22 points by the way, and some of them are truly terrifying.
It's no secret that the U.S. Government is bought and paid for. As Animal Farm demonstrated, no one in Washington D.C. took the job because they wanted to be a civil servant and cared about our country's citizens. They do it for the perks and the payday, and these tech companies have the power to give these pigs (whose salary we pay for) the biggest payday of their sad, selfish, meaningless lives.
I rarely talk about modern politics on the channel because I know a lot of you see my content as an escape from reality, and honestly, I don't pay enough attention to have an informed opinion anyway. News and politics is bad for the mental health.
With that said, it's hard to stay silent when the people you love are in danger.
Stay vigilant, friends. No matter what happens we can get through it together.

So… I just finished my deep dive into Animal Farm, and... to be honest... all the serotonin and dopamine has left my body.
What started as “haha funny farm animals overthrow their drunk owner” quickly turned into one of the most depressing, accurate breakdowns of power I’ve ever read. But contrary to popular belief this tale isn't just a metaphor for Stalin or the Soviet Union — it’s about a pattern that shows up anytime people put blind trust in the wrong leaders.
In this episode I break down how George Orwell went from getting shot in the throat during the Spanish Civil War to writing a story where pigs slowly gaslight an entire farm into agreeing to the most miserable lives imaginable. We’re talking propaganda, public executions, and one of the most brutal betrayals in all of literature... (iykyk).
So, if you’ve ever wanted a crash course on how revolutions go from hopeful to horrifying… or just want to feel slightly worse about human nature… or just need help on your last book report of the year... this one's for you. The episode is available on the channel!
(I'd link you to it but YouTube suppresses links to their own site for some reason.)
