Welcome to Bus Driver Life!! My name is Keywan, and I have driven transit buses in Northern California (Sacramento) for the past nine years. Prior to that I was a school bus driver in Wisconsin for about eight years. My goal is that YOU get some insight and information regarding the life of a bus driver. I'll share with you why certain things happen the way they do on the bus and public transportation in general! Also, I'm extremely goofy, so don't mind me if I tell corny jokes and make weird facial expressions! Also I am a huge Batman fan! Have an awesome day!

It’s not the bus driver’s fault…
…that the schedule was unrealistic to begin with.
We don’t create the time—we try to keep it. 🚌🚏🚍

“Being a bus operator isn’t just about tight schedules and navigating traffic. It’s about the small moments—like a kid waving at the bus like you’re the coolest person in the world, or helping someone figure out where they’re going. Those moments matter more than people realize.”🚌🚏💯

Dear passenger,
The operator controls the bus—
not traffic, not other drivers, not every situation.
But we’re doing our best to get you there safely. 🚌🚍🚏

Being a bus operator is one of the only jobs I know where people will cuss / curse you out… just for having a scheduled break.

Like, I’ll pull up to a terminal and I already know—people are ready to board. And I get it. I’ve been a passenger too. When you see your bus, you want to get on and get moving.

But if it’s not the scheduled departure time yet, and I’ve got a few minutes of scheduled break time, I’ll let folks know. And for some reason, that’s when a small group of people get upset… like really upset. We’re talking full-on attitude, frustration, sometimes even a whole temper tantrum—over a few minutes that are literally part of the schedule.

Now don’t get me wrong—I’m not here to just focus on the negative.

I’ve got to give a huge shoutout to all the passengers who understand that operators need those few minutes. The ones who are patient, supportive, and sometimes even step in and say, “Hey, let the driver take their break.” That doesn’t go unnoticed.

And honestly? That’s the majority.

Most passengers are respectful, understanding, and just all-around solid people. Y’all make the job a whole lot better.

Trust me—we appreciate you more than you know. 🙏🏾😃🚌❤️
