Winter beekeeping is important! It has been so cold and snowy here and yesterday we went out and put the fondant patties on the hives. What we discovered was that two of the hives had eaten most of their first fondant patty and two had not needed to even start eating them! We topped up the two hives and they have the important food to make it through the next half of winter. I hope it is not a cold spring!

Two years, it took me TWO YEARS to figure out how to link youtube to my Facebook page. I spent a couple of hours tonight with google search to try and figure it out.
Well, I did finally get it. I had to make a username for the page and then the linking worked. Holy cow am I ever dense!

This morning I was online buying some perennial flower seeds for winter sowing. I bought them on Etsy. I have had great luck with unique flower choices on Etsy! Today I bought some Silver Sea Holly Seeds - Eryngium Maritimum, yellow Russell Lupines and Magic Fountains Seed pink. Previously this fall I bought Rudbeckia triloba and Double dutch Pink Cosmos. We have some big plans for the Meadow this year! We are adding to the meadow and making a small pavilion so we can sit among the meadow and enjoy the buzzing of the bees and other pollinators!

Sort of like this but not as robust, but it gives me ideas for sure!!!

This week we lost our girl Luna to bladder cancer. My heart is broken. I am so sad for her loss. She was a silly, crazy and loving dog and the house feels so quiet without her.
