Two of the three court-certified labs (Alpha Biolabs and Advanced Histopathology) have officially declined the paternity test for Liam.


A lot of you are asking: "Is this a cover-up?" or "How can a top lab say they can't do a DNA test?"

The answer isn't just legal—it’s Scientific.


Here is the "Deep File" breakdown on why the embalming fluid has created a laboratory deadlock.

1. The "Glue" Problem (Cross-Linking) 🧪
Think of DNA like a long, beautiful beaded necklace. To run a paternity test, scientists need to take those beads apart and read the code.

• The Reality: Embalming fluid (Formaldehyde) acts like Super Glue. It doesn't just preserve the body; it creates "cross-links" that permanently bond the DNA to proteins.

• The Result: When the labs try to extract the DNA, it’s so tightly glued together that the machines can't "read" it. It’s like trying to read a book where every single page has been glued shut.

2. The "Paper Shredder" Effect (Fragmentation) ✂️
Formaldehyde is very acidic. Over time, it acts like a paper shredder for your genetic code.

• The Reality: Instead of a long, clear strand of DNA, the labs are finding tiny, broken pieces (often only 50–300 base pairs long).

• The Result: Most standard paternity labs need "High Molecular Weight" (long, intact) DNA to give a 99.9% answer. If the DNA is too fragmented, the results become "inconclusive," and most top labs won't risk their reputation on a "maybe."

3. The "Inhibitor" Mask 🎭
Finally, the chemicals used in embalming are what scientists call Inhibitors.

• The Analogy: Imagine trying to take a clear photo of someone, but they are standing behind a thick, foggy window. The person is there, but the "fog" (the chemicals) prevents the camera (the lab equipment) from seeing them clearly.

Why the Ohio Lab is the "Last Hope" 🇺🇸
The third lab, DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC) in Fairfield, Ohio, is one of the few in the world that specializes in "Forensic/Difficult Tissue" extraction. They use advanced heat-treatment and special enzymes to "melt" the glue without destroying the beads.


The Bottom Line: This isn't necessarily a sign of foul play—it's a sign that Mohbad’s case is one of the most difficult forensic challenges in recent Nigerian history.
