Sengdum Ningda

The Singpho are an indigenous community in Northeast India, primarily inhabiting Arunachal Pradesh (Lohit/Changlang districts) and Assam (Tinsukia district). Known as the Jingpo in China or Kachin in Myanmar, they are famous as early cultivators of tea in India. They are known for traditional smoked tea (Phalap), living in stilted houses, and having a patriarchal society.
