Sh. Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, conducted an inspection of the Udhna–Makarpura section on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) by rail car to review operational readiness, asset maintenance, and business development initiatives.

Accompanied by Sh. S. P. Verma, GGM/BD&BA; Sh. Sudeep Prasad, AGM/CC; Sh. J. K. Agrawal, AGM/BD; Sh. Govind Prasad Saini, CGM/Ahmedabad; Sh. Alok Mishra, AGM/Civil/ADI, and other senior officials, the MD reviewed the progress of GCT at New Gothangam and New Ankleshwar, discussed reviewed the progress of Sawariya Shakti siding, and interacted with GCT representatives on strategies to enhance freight traffic and accelerate business growth through greater modal shift from road to rail.

During the inspection, the MD also emphasized the importance of asset maintenance, mass plantation, solar energy adoption, and water harvesting as part of DFCCIL's commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.

The MD also attended the 4th Convocation Ceremony of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara, had the opportunity to listen to the inspiring address delivered by the Metro Man of India, Dr. E. Sreedharan.

Highlighting the four pillars of professional excellence—Punctuality, Integrity, Professional Competence and Attitude towards Work—he urges everyone to embrace them in their daily work.

Demonstrating unwavering commitment to safeguarding critical railway infrastructure.

A joint operation by the DFCCIL Security teams of Tundla and Prayagraj Units, in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), successfully busted an active railway property theft gang operating in the New Kanpur–New Bhimsen–New Bhaupur section of the Dedicated Freight Corridor on 15.07.2026.

With the arrest of four accused, stolen railway property worth approximately ₹18,740, including copper strips, copper earthing wire, and railway batteries were recovered. A Hero Splendor motorcycle and a loader vehicle used in the crime were also seized.

During the inspection, the officials carried out a detailed review and analysis of wind speed data recorded through Anemometers, including instances of readings exceeding 50 kmph. The performance, installation conditions, and operational reliability of Anemometers installed across Ajmer Division were also examined to ensure accurate wind monitoring and enhanced safety measures.

Strong winds can influence rail operations, making accurate and real-time wind monitoring an essential part of ensuring safe train movement. The inspection focused on strengthening wind monitoring systems and assessing their effectiveness in supporting safe and reliable freight operations.

Ltd. (New Station between New Ancheli and New Pardi), M/s Timba PFT Pvt. Ltd. (New Timba), and M/s DP World (New Umbergaon Road).
