For Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I was going to write a searingly negative, brutal assessment of my own mental health and personal circumstances. I am at one of the truly lowest points of my life and my thoughts are scaring me, but I decided to do exactly the opposite of what my brain was imploring me to do.
I decided to focus on the positives.
I am alive. I have an amazing family. I care deeply about people and want to help everyone I can. I have so many random talents. I’m still young. I am physically healthy. My kids are so happy. I have so many ideas that I know, one day, something will work for me. I am alive.
I am alive.
That one is a big one isn’t it. Because being alive is a luxury that we don’t get to experience for a particularly long length of time, but yet I’ve achieved it. I’m still alive. That must mean I’m doing something right. Despite everything I’ve been through and am currently going through, I’m still here. I’m still fighting.
So lads. I know how hard things are for you right now. I know how alone you feel. I know how dark your thoughts can get sometimes. But instead of focusing on those thoughts. Instead of letting those thoughts take priority in your life….just stop for a moment. Look around you. Take a deep breath and take a note of the positive things in your life, the really great things that not only keep you ‘hanging on’, but enrich your life beyond measure. You have so much more in your life than you might even realise. You are much more than you realise.
You don’t have to face it alone, mate. None of us do. Talk, share, cry, swear, shout - whatever you need to do to let it out. We’re all in this together, and if linking arms and dragging each other through the shit is the only way we’re going to survive, then so be it. I’ll drag each and every one of you through it if I have to.
First pic is me wallowing in my own self pity, the second pic is me dragging myself out for a walk. I can and absolutely WILL get through this.
Well it has finally happened. I now have over 4k subscribers! The fact that 4 thousand people have signed up to see more of my chunky little face doing stupid things is quite frankly mind blowing to me, but thank you all the same!

People on here have always made fun of my weight.
6 stone down. Drink problem beaten. Brand new man.
If you were one of those people, you can suck it.
Peace.
