I analyze and critique media and make tribute videos as part of a memorial series for my younger brother Jamison, who died in 2018.

I'll be streaming A Bird Story, an experimental game by Kan Gao and a part of his To the Moon series, on Monday, June 1st at 8:15 PM Central Time. The game is about 70 minutes long. For anyone who hasn't seen my other posts, I'll reiterate that streaming isn't going to become regular content for this channel. I just want to stream this series of short narrative games over the next few weeks.

This stream was supposed to happen today, but I ran into problems with the game not displaying at the correct resolution. I've since figured out how to fix that.

Hey everyone. Streaming's not going to become a regular thing on this channel, but I would like to stream the rest of Kan Gao's To the Moon series. I'm happy with how the last stream went; more people showed up than I was expecting, and I enjoyed having the chance to share the game with friends while giving it another once-over myself. (I'll do an analysis of the whole series someday, so another look is always warranted.)

On Monday, May 25th at about 8:15 PM Central Time I'll be continuing the story with both of the Sigmund Minisodes. These are free DLC expansions that together add up to about an hour of content, and they're an important part of the overall story of the series. I'd be glad to hang out with everyone then. If you missed the first stream, it's under the Live tab on my channel, or, better yet, you should play through To the Moon yourself. It's ten bucks on Steam and a good 3-4 hours long. I recommend it.

Have a good one. See you (hopefully) on Monday.

I intend to stream Kan Gao's 2011 narrative game To the Moon about 11 hours from now at roughly 8:15 PM Central Time. I'll be talking about it in detail in a section of the still upcoming last episode of Always on My Mind, so I wanted to give people who aren't otherwise likely to seek it out a potentially appealing way to experience it. The game is about three hours long, and the story is fascinating and deeply emotional. I definitely recommend playing it for yourself, but if you don't see yourself doing that, maybe keep this in the back of your mind.

Baby Arms

A family emergency has forced me to return home to the U.S., away from my PC, which means that the final episode of Always on My Mind won't be ready by April 20th, just like it wasn't ready by April 20th of last year like I'd planned and wasn't ready by April 20th of 2024 like I'd originally planned. This obviously isn't the most important aspect of what's going on right now, but I figured I'd make a post explaining this because I've publicly given a release date for the end of the tribute series and been wrong about it enough times that people might think I'm not serious about it.

I'm actually heartbroken that I haven't been able to finish this video yet. I think it would have done some good for my family that it's not fully going to be able to do anymore.

I don't know when it'll be released now. Probably sometime this year, but I don't want to make that promise. What I can guarantee is that when it is finally ready, it'll be exactly the way I wanted it to be, perfectly what I wanted to show people. I've never been prouder of a project I've made.

In the meantime, I do tentatively plan on releasing a very small snippet of it on April 1st, not as an April Fools' Day joke but just because I think that might be the best time to do it in terms of effectively engaging with the algorithm. It is, coincidentally, a mostly comedic bit of the larger video. There's a chance I might hold off a little longer depending on how this situation at home develops over the next few days—it might end up not being appropriate to publish it right now—but if I don't Wednesday, then I will later this month.

I doubt any of this is relevant to most of the people who might be reading it, but the tribute series is what I value most on this channel. I want to thank everyone who's checked it out, and to those who haven't but who are still subscribed, thanks for sticking with me. If you pray, then please pray for my family, and for my dad in particular.

I joined Hard Cut for their review of Osgood Perkins's Keeper. Tearing apart Longlegs wasn't enough for me. Check it out. ‪@hardcutreviews‬

Keep an eye out for Hard Cut's review of Keeper on Saturday, December 6th at 11:30 AM CST, just 11 hours from now. I had the extremely exciting honor of joining Matt and Bobby for this one. ‪@hardcutreviews‬

The classy and talented ladies of ‪@hardcutreviews‬ will be joining me on my first ever stream Tuesday, October 28th at 7 or 8 PM Central Time (or about 9-10 AM on the 29th if you're in Korea like me). The topic: them, and why their channel has quickly become one of my favorites. I have a lot of questions for these gals, and I'd appreciate my legions of subscribers bringing their some of their own.

Don't miss it. In the meantime, go check out Hard Cut. Watch their Longlegs video, then come back here and watch mine, then go back to them and watch more of their stuff. Make sure to leave lots of comments asking them to review Prometheus and explain how it fits into the Alien canon.

This Saturday, May 17th at 8 PM EST/7 PM CT I'll be chatting with Johnny of Hyper Tension Films on his stream for about an hour. Come hang out. And go subscribe to Hyper Tension Films while you're at it. Off the top of my head, his videos on Silent Hill 2 and its recent remake are among the best I've ever watched covering that particular game.
