What if we held regular town halls where parents and teachers can have real conversations about what’s working and what isn’t. Each year, parents, teachers, and staff would also complete a confidential school community survey, with the results shared publicly.

Great teachers and leaders should be recognized. Struggling schools should be expected to improve.

Can we support students with complex needs while also protecting the learning environment? I think we can do both.

Imagine every school having a Student Success Centre where students can access targeted support for behaviour, language, literacy, speech, counselling, occupational therapy, and more.

Students remain part of their learning community while receiving specialized support when they need it.

Support should never come at the expense of learning, and learning should never come at the expense of support.

Some will find their path. Others will discover what isn't for them. Both are valuable.

Let's stop asking teenagers to choose a future they've never had the chance to experience.

Imagine replacing one-shot tests with continuous evidence of learning through projects, conversations, demonstrations, presentations, and portfolios. Students who need more time receive more coaching and more opportunities to demonstrate mastery.

The goal isn’t to collect more grades. It’s to collect better evidence of learning.
