O! HAD I KNOWN !!
(He ignored the message)

At exactly 11:47pm, Daniel, a 200 level student in one of the universities, received a message from his mother:
“My son, please be careful of the friends around you. Not everyone smiling with you truly loves you.” This message came in response to the bad dream his mother had about Daniel her son, the previous night.
Daniel read the message… smiled… and ignored it and murmured, "these old people sef".
After all, his friends had always been there.
They laughed together, ate together, and called themselves “brothers.” However, they have been watching him closely unknown to him, because, they knew he had "cash".
Few weeks later, one of those same friends convinced him to join a business deal that sounded too good to be true.
Daniel hesitated at first.
But because he trusted them, he agreed.
That decision changed everything.
The deal later collapsed, the
huge money he invested disappeared without a trace.

Blame started flying everywhere from other students.
And suddenly, the same people who once called him “brother” disappeared one after another.
Daniel was left alone to face the consequences.
One evening, while sitting quietly in his room, he opened his old messages and saw his mother’s words again.
This time… they hit him hard and differently.
He realized something very painful:
Not every warning comes with noise.
Some arrive quietly through people who truly care about you, like his lovely mother.
Sadly, many people ignore wisdom and advice from elders because they sounds too simple.

LESSONS:
"In the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” — Proverbs 11.14
(I) Pay close attention to genuine advice, especially from your parents and spiritual leaders.
(ii) Sometimes God protects us through the voice of people who loves us.
(iii) When taking decisions, we should pray and ask the Lord to guide us aright.
(iv) On a stricter situations, we may seek for counseling from our spiritual leaders/ parents.
(v) Learn from the mistakes of others

May the good Lord guide you through the decision making in Jesus name, Amen.
