Gol Gol - Korean Food Cooking

Welcome to Gol Gol Korean Kitchen!

This channel is all about heartwarming Korean home cooking with a twist of love, memory, and care.

I'm just an ordinary Korean man who enjoys cooking, and I started this channel to preserve my mother’s recipes through videos—so they’ll never be forgotten. Along the way, I also share vegetarian versions of Korean dishes, hoping to connect with more people around the world.

Here, you’ll find:

"Authentic and cozy Korean recipes"

"Vegetarian takes on traditional dishes"

"Tips for adapting recipes with global ingredients"

"Occasionally, fusion recipes with a Korean touch"

Every home has its own way of cooking. I hope these videos inspire you to find the way that works best for you.
Whether you're Korean, vegetarian, or simply curious about Korean food, you're always welcome here.

Take a break, enjoy the stories, and cook along with me.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a small update with you.

Last year, I wasn’t able to upload videos consistently.
During a company audit process, I moved into a quality control role, and at the same time, my health gradually began to decline.
To take better care of myself, I started cycling, which became a time for recovery and reflection.

During that period, I also suffered a rib injury, and eventually decided to leave my job.
It was not an easy decision, but it gave me the chance to rethink the kind of life and work I want to build.

I am currently attending a video editing program and slowly rebuilding my daily rhythm.
Time is limited, but my direction feels much clearer than before.

This channel has always been about more than just recipes.
For me, Korean food represents everyday life, mutual respect, and sharing a table even when we are different.

Thank you for quietly staying here, even during the slower moments.
I will continue moving forward, one step at a time.

Thank you,
Gol Gol

Gol Gol - Korean Food Cooking

Dear friends,

I owe you an apology for not being able to upload on GolGol for the past 3–4 months. This summer in Korea was extremely hot, and during filming, my camera often shut down from the heat. Even sitting at my desk to edit felt unbearable at times.

On top of that, some results from my recent health check-up required me to focus on exercise and recovery. Naturally, this meant I couldn’t give my channel the attention it deserves. I should have shared an update with you earlier, but since similar situations have happened before, I hesitated, and kept telling myself “next week, maybe next week” until much more time had passed than I realized. For this, I am truly sorry.

The weather is finally starting to cool down, and I plan to return with new uploads soon. I’ll also be linking my personal Instagram to this channel. If you’re curious about daily life in Korea or the dishes I prepare for my mother, please feel free to visit me there.

Thank you always for your patience, kindness, and support. I look forward to cooking and sharing with you again very soon.

Warm regards,
Gol Gol

Which format helps you most when watching my videos?

My goal has always been to help you clearly understand each step of the recipe — that’s why I include narration in my videos.

Because my English isn’t strong yet, I use a translation tool when writing my scripts. That’s why it’s hard for me to narrate in English, so I’ve been using an AI voice that’s trained on my own voice.

Recently, some of you have shared that the video might feel more natural with my real voice, and honestly, that’s something I’ve been thinking about too.

Since you are the ones watching these videos, I want to create them in the format that feels most helpful and comfortable for you.

If you’re also learning Korean, maybe the Korean narration could even be helpful!
Thank you always for your support 💛

So, I’d love to know your preference

Hi everyone 🌿

I just wanted to take a moment to share something with you.

Each week, I feel so thankful to see you return to watch my videos, leave such kind comments, and press the like button.
Knowing you're out there truly encourages me and gives me the strength to keep doing my best.

Lately, though, I’ve only been getting about 3 to 4 hours of sleep each night, and it’s starting to wear me down more than I expected.
As much as I wanted to finish editing and upload a new video this week, I’ve realized I simply don’t have the energy to complete it in time.

I’m really sorry if you were looking forward to it.
Rather than pushing myself too hard and needing a longer break like before, I’ve decided to take a short rest and return next week with a fresh mind and heart.

Next week's video will be Vegan Sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew), and the following week, I’ll be sharing a new Fusion Tteokbokki recipe.

Thank you so much for always being here.
Your support means the world to me, and I’m already looking forward to spending time with you again very soon. ❤️

Hello everyone. I've been really busy with work lately and my health hasn't been great.
I'm trying my best to upload videos every week, but it's been difficult.
I won't be able to upload a video this week because I can't find the time to edit.
I promise to upload one next week.
Take care of your health and have a wonderful week with your families.
I'm sorry and thank you for understanding!

Hello everyone, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
In my last Geotjeori video, I had some leftover napa cabbage, which I decided to use as wraps for pork belly suyuk.
I've attached a photo for those who might be curious about how I used the cabbage leaves.

Starting this week, I'll be uploading videos on Thursdays, which is my original upload schedule.
I had initially planned to upload two videos per week, but my schedule has been too hectic lately, and it's been difficult to manage.
I've also attached a photo of the sedum dish that will be uploaded on Thursday.
I enjoyed it with pork belly suyuk.

While this recipe is categorized as vegan, Korean cuisine typically emphasizes a harmonious balance of side dishes.
I share vegan recipes, but I'm not vegan myself.
I created the vegan category in hopes that more people can enjoy healthy and delicious Korean food.

Thank you, and I wish everyone a happy week!

Hi everyone, I have some unfortunate news to share with you today.
I was originally planning to upload two videos a week, but I recently changed jobs and have been feeling under the weather.
I'm even having trouble tasting food.
I'll be editing the videos I filmed this week as soon as I feel better, and I'll be sure to upload them next week.
I hope you're all doing well and staying healthy.
Have a wonderful week!

Merry Christmas everyone!! 2023 is almost over~

How was your year?

I know you must be busy with lots of plans and things to do at the end of the year.

I started my YouTube channel this year, but I didn't know how to shoot or edit, so I'm still studying and practicing every day.

My videos are still very amateurish, but I'm so grateful to all of you who showed interest, subscribed, and left comments.

I tried to make easy recipes and include as much information as possible in the videos, so that you can cook more smoothly, but I think some of them turned out to be a bit boring.

I know I have a lot to improve, but I'll work harder to make better videos in 2024.

I hope you'll bear with me as I learn and grow.

I hope you all have a great end of the year and a happy new year full of joy and blessings!
