Duʿa of the Slaves of Allah for Forgiveness & Mercy

رَبَّنَآ اٰمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرّٰحِمِيْنَ.

Rabbanā āmannā fa-ghfir lanā war-ḥamnā wa Anta khayru-r-rāḥimīn.

Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us: You are the Best of those who are merciful. (23:109)

Duʿa of Prophet Musa ﷺ for Forgiveness

أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِيْنَ.

Anta Walliyyunā fa-ghfir lanā war-ḥamnā wa Anta khayrul-ghāfirīn.

You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us. You are the best of those who forgive. (7:155)

Duʿa of Prophet Adam ﷺ and Hawwa for Forgiveness

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ.

Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa il-lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā la-nakūnanna minal-khāsīrīn.

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be amongst the losers. (7:23)

Duʿa of the Grief-stricken Prophet Yunus ﷺ

لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّيْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ.

Lā ilāha illā Anta subḥānaka innī kuntu mina-ẓ-ẓālimīn.

There is no god worthy of worship except You. You are free from imperfection. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. (21:87)

عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: دَعْوَةُ ذِي النُّونِ إِذْ دَعَا وَهُوَ فِي بَطْنِ الْحُوتِ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَدْعُ بِهَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا اسْتَجَابَ اللهُ لَهُ. (سنن الترمذي ٣٥٠٥)

أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ، أَوْ أُحَدِّثُكُمْ، بِشَيْءٍ إِذَا نَزَلَ بِرَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ كَرْبٌ أَوْ بَلَاءٌ مِنَ بَلَاءِ الدُّنْيَا دَعَا بِهِ فُرِّجَ عَنْهُ؟ فَقِيلَ لَهُ: بَلَى، قَالَ: " دُعَاءُ ذِي النُّونِ: ‌لَا ‌إِلَهَ ‌إِلَّا ‌أَنْتَ ‌سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ.
(السنن الكبرى للنسائي ١٠٤١٦)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The supplication of Dhun-Nūn (Prophet Yūnus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was: [the above]. ”No Muslim man ever supplicates with [the above] except that Allah answers his supplication.” (Tirmidhī 3505)

He ﷺ also said that [the above] removes difficulties and calamities. (Nasā'i 10416)

Surah al-Fatihah: The Greatest Duʿa

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ ،
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ ، الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ ، مٰلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ ، إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُ ، اِهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيْمَ ، صِرَاطَ الَّذِيْنَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّآلِّيْنَ.

Bismi-llāhi-r-Raḥmāni-r-Raḥīm. Alḥamdu-lillāhi Rabbi-l-ʿālamīn, ar-Raḥmāni-r-Raḥīm, Māliki yawmi-d-dīn, iyyāka naʿbudu wa iyyāka nastaʿīn, ihdina-ṣ-Ṣirāṭa-l-Mustaqīm, ṣirāṭa-lladhīna anʿamta ʿalayhim ghayri-l-maghḍūbi ʿālayhim wa la-ḍ-ḍāllīn.

In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very Merciful. All praises and thanks are for Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, The All-Merciful, The Very Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgement. You Alone we worship, You Alone we ask for help. Guide us on the Straight Path, the path of those whom You have favoured, not of those who incur (Your) anger nor of those who have gone astray. (1:1-7)

20 Jan last istighfar

Istighfar -

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ

Rabbi-ghfir lī wa tubb ‘alayy , Innaka antat-tawwā burr-rahīm

My Lord! Forgive me and pardon me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning with compassion and Ever Merciful.

عن ابن عمر قال: إنْ كنَّا لنعُدُّ لرسولِ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في المجلسِ الواحِدِ مئة مرةِ رَبِّ اغفِر لي ‌وتُب علىَّ ، إنَك أنتَ التَّوابُ الرحيم
(سنن ابي داود ١٥١٦)

ʿAbdullāh B.ʿUmar (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhumā) narrated: "We counted The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying a hundred times during one single sitting: [the above]." (Abū Dāwūd 1516)
