New: SEGA announced "#Sonic the Hedgehog: Memories and Beyond," a new short-form animation, at Anime Expo 2026 late Friday. A sneek peek at some footage was shown off, and you can see the logo and screenshots below.
Estimated to be around 10 minutes in total length, the series will "celebrate 35 years of Sonic in a new action-packed animated adventure," according to the official synopsis.
"Doctor Eggman has upgraded Metal Sonic into the ultimate fighting machine, stealing Sonic's life-data and harnessing the power of the chaos emeralds. In order to defeat them, Sonic and his friends must rely on the friendship built throughout their adventures."
The animated series is expected to debut later this year.
